
Reporting to the Global Chief Data & Analytics Officer, the Vice President of Responsible AI is responsible for establishing and evolving the end-to-end firmwide Responsible AI strategy and driving and influencing the implementation of technologies, tools, and best practices to improve AI governance and ensure the creation of safe and secure AI capabilities. Critically, this leader will accelerate Thomson Reuters' Responsible AI program, developing guidelines and implementing technologies that ensure AI systems are transparent, fair, and minimize bias, while prioritizing data privacy and security.
Partnering closely with all business units across TR, the VP Responsible AI will assess business needs and provide thought-leadership and tactical guidance to improve AI stewardship, model development, safety and security. This leader will deliver industry best practices at scale, creating and implementing automated risk assessments, AI inventory management, continuous monitoring, and importantly embedding Responsible AI directly into the AI model life cycle. The VP Responsible AI will ensure standards and best practices are implemented and adhered to across business functions, product teams, and business segments, while observing regulations and contractual requirements about how AI can be used across the company, including emerging regulations like the EU AI Act.
A strong customer orientation will be critical to ensure that teams are able to drive more effective business decisions and better serve end users from more accessible high-quality AI-enabled use cases, ultimately accelerating the delivery of AI at Thomson Reuters. This leader will also need to be an agent of change to build new AI disciplines and drive adoption of AI principles through influence, communication, and education. Critically, the VP Responsible AI will need to be a builder, not only transforming data & AI capabilities, but also building a high-performing team capable of rapidly executing data & AI transformation at scale.
This role will lead a 30-person team and can be based in New York, NY; Minneapolis, MN; Dallas, TX; Toronto; Canada or Zug, Switzerland.

The ideal candidate will have a deep background in managing AI governance standards and technologies that deal with large volumes of data and complex AI use cases in hybrid or cloud environments. As new technologies have emerged in AI, this leader remains abreast of best-in-class technologies and capabilities and brings experience transforming and modernizing legacy systems. The successful candidate will have experience operating in a complex global organizational environment, and will bring extensive experience leading transformational change programs. They will also have a track record of delivering improved AI management, platforms, governance, and security to the organization.

The base compensation range varies across locations.
Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $228,000 USD - $424,000 USD.
For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $198,200 USD - $368,000 USD.
Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
