The Vice President of Resident Care develops quality services in the areas of resident care and compliance to state regulations and Benchmark policy. This position promotes and integrates the mission and philosophy of Benchmark Senior Living in the development and support of the Resident Care and Memory Care guidelines, policy, and procedures, risk management, regulatory compliance, talent development and ongoing quality improvement programs. The Vice President of Resident Care oversees the clinical partners in the field, is always resident and family focused, and strives toward excellence in community service and profitability. Extensive travel is required, including frequent day travel and overnight stays based on business needs.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
• Creates an environment for the regional nurses to deliver quality resident services within the communities
• Develops growth strategy by introducing care platforms and other enhancements to the existing care offered
• Monitors compliance with all state and regulatory guidelines
• Sets and reviews staffing models for company
• Develops programs with third party vendors that will enhance the residents’ safety and increase length of stay.
• Partners with Legal/Risk Management on oversight of the BSL quality assurance programs
• Participates in strategy sessions to increase resident satisfaction, offerings in the communities and drive profit
• Organizes, directs, and integrates practices to assure continued compliance with applicable State and Federal laws governing medical services
• Participates in site reviews by State, Federal, or other regulatory agencies
• Partners with sales to generate business leads and contribute to project proposals and presentations
• Provides leadership to the resident care department; inclusive of Memory Care and Programming (Customer Engagement)
• Ensures that staff is properly allocated with appropriate resources in order to achieve project deliverables and expectations of residents, while maintaining appropriate revenue goals and margins

• Identifies opportunities and takes action to influence and build effective relationships with others directly as well as between one’s area and other areas, teams departments, units or organizations to help achieve business goals.
• Establishes key vendor partnerships to leverage products and/or services that enhance the customer experience and drive business results.
• Aligns company goals with third party vendors and health providers servicing our residents.

Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:
• BA/BS degree in nursing; master’s degree preferred
• Possess a valid, unrestricted RN license preferred
• 10+ years of clinical leadership experience; 5+ years of multi-state experience preferred
• Valid drivers license
