Job Description

• Conduct compliance reviews, thematic assessments, and monitoring activities across business and support functions in accordance with the annual Compliance Plan.
• Assess compliance with applicable laws, regulations, supervisory expectations and internal policies, and identify regulatory and compliance risks.
• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls and procedures, and identify control gaps and areas for improvement.
• Perform control testing and follow-up reviews to assess the effectiveness and timely implementation of remediation actions.
• Monitor regulatory developments and emerging risks, and assess their impact on the Branch's compliance risk profile and review programme.
• Participate in regulatory risk assessments and ongoing risk monitoring across the Branch.
• Track, analyse, and report review findings, remediation progress, and key compliance risks to management and relevant governance forums.
• Support the development and execution of the annual Compliance Review Plan and enhancement of review methodologies and monitoring frameworks.
• Assist the Head of Regulatory Compliance in compliance governance, management reporting, and strategic compliance initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Law, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, compliance review, regulatory assurance, risk management, audit, or internal control functions within financial institutions, consultancies, or regulatory authorities.
• Experience in planning and conducting regulatory compliance reviews, thematic assessments, monitoring activities, or control testing.
• Good understanding of banking products, services, and regulatory requirements across Wholesale Banking, Private Banking, and Global Markets.
• Familiarity with regulatory risk assessments, issue management, and remediation tracking.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong banking regulations and regulatory expectations, with the ability to assess compliance risks and evaluate the effectiveness of controls.
• Sound understanding of compliance review methodologies, risk-based monitoring, testing techniques, and regulatory risk assessment frameworks.
• Experience in conducting reviews, documenting findings, preparing management reports, and tracking remediation actions.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and risk assessment skills.
• Good stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with business and support functions across all levels.
• Professional qualifications in accounting, auditing, risk management, or compliance (e.g., CPA, CIA, CAMS, ICA, or equivalent) would be an advantage.
• Holder of ECF on Compliance accredited by HKIB is preferred
