Purpose of role:

MUFG Bank, Ltd., Japan’s premier financial institution with a global presence in over 40 markets, is seeking a Vice President, Regional Client Implementation Manager for its Transaction Banking Office in Singapore. This is an exceptional opportunity to join one of the world’s most trusted and respected banking groups, renowned for its commitment to sustainable growth, client-centric solutions, and collaborative culture. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of digital transformation in transaction banking, guiding large corporate clients across the APAC region through complex technical integrations that connect their ERP and Treasury Management Systems directly to MUFG’s advanced banking infrastructure.

  • Take ownership of high-impact regional projects that enable major corporate clients to integrate their financial systems with cutting-edge banking channels across multiple countries.
  • Benefit from a collaborative team culture that encourages professional development, knowledge sharing, and flexible working opportunities within a truly international environment.

What you'll do:

As Vice President, you will play a central role in enabling large corporate clients to seamlessly connect their internal financial systems with MUFG’s robust transaction banking platforms. Your day-to-day activities will involve leading complex technical integrations across diverse ERP and TMS environments throughout the APAC region. You will work collaboratively with both client-side stakeholders such as IT specialists and treasury professionals and internal teams spanning Product Management, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Relationship Management. Your ability to manage multi-country projects from inception through go-live will be critical in delivering outstanding client experiences while upholding MUFG’s standards for quality, reliability and contribute significantly to the bank’s reputation as a trusted partner for digital transformation in transaction banking.

  • Oversee the complete technical integration process for corporate banking clients across APAC, ensuring seamless connectivity via H2H SFTP, HTTPS, SWIFTNet (FileAct/FIN), and API channels.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for clients integrating ERP or Treasury Management Systems (TMS) such as SAP (S/4HANA/ECC), Oracle E-Business Suite/Cloud Financials, Kyriba, TreasuryXpress, FIS Integrity, ION, Coupa, Workday, and Microsoft Dynamics with the bank’s infrastructure.
  • Guide clients through every stage of ERP/TMS connectivity setup including payment run configuration, DMEE framework design, bank communication module implementation, account setup, EFT formatting, and workflow automation.
  • Collaborate closely with client IT and treasury teams to establish secure connections using industry-standard security protocols such as PGP/SSL encryption and certificate management.
  • Lead technical workshops on connectivity setup, file format specifications (including ISO 20022 XML and SWIFT MT formats), data mapping requirements, and best practices for secure integration.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of onboarding projects: from initial requirements gathering and UAT testing through to production go-live and warranty support handover.
  • Perform detailed analysis of client payment file formats; map and translate these into bank-accepted formats using tools such as XSLT stylesheets or scripted converters.
  • Design or oversee the development of reusable translation tools and maintain a comprehensive library of mapping templates to accelerate future onboarding initiatives.
  • Coordinate multi-country implementation projects by applying structured project management methodologies to ensure timely delivery while managing risks and stakeholder expectations.
  • Act as the single point of escalation during implementations; proactively resolve issues while conducting post-implementation reviews to drive continuous improvement.

What you bring:

To excel at MUFG, your background should reflect substantial experience supporting large-scale ERP or TMS integrations within banking environments. Your proven track record should include not only deep technical knowledge but also an empathetic understanding of what clients require when connecting their systems to sophisticated banking infrastructure. You will bring an inclusive mindset that values collaboration across cultures and disciplines and essential when managing multi-country projects involving diverse stakeholders.

  • A minimum of five to eight years’ hands-on experience configuring ERP or TMS platforms for corporate treasury or finance operations is essential; direct involvement in bank connectivity projects is highly valued.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Finance Systems or related technical discipline is required for this position.
  • Proven expertise configuring at least one major system such as SAP (S/4HANA/ECC), Oracle E-Business Suite/Cloud Financials (including DMEE tree configuration or EFT format setup), or leading TMS platforms like Kyriba or TreasuryXpress is expected.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with ISO 20022 XML standards—especially pain.001 payment initiation file construction—as well as field mapping and schema validation is necessary.
  • Experience designing or building file translation tools using XSLT transformations or scripting languages (e.g., Python) to convert ERP output files into bank-compliant formats is important.
  • Working knowledge of H2H SFTP protocols, SWIFTNet (FileAct/FIN), API-based integrations from both configuration and implementation perspectives is required.
  • Solid project management skills with experience coordinating multi-country implementations involving multiple stakeholders across APAC are crucial for success in this role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities are needed to effectively engage both internal colleagues and external client teams throughout complex projects.
