Our work makes a clear contribution to society and the environment around us. We build in many different verticals. Whether we are building schools to provide inspiring spaces for learning, roads to connect communities or hospitals to care for patients, it all contributes to our purpose – we build for a better society.
Skanska's values —Be Better Together, Act Ethically and Transparently, Commit to Customer and Care for Life—are deeply engrained in how we work, which is why our values support and drive our D&I efforts.
The Vice President - Project Executive leads the successful delivery of large-scale construction projects by developing and executing strategic, tactical, and operational plans across multiple teams. Acting as the primary company contact for clients, this role drives project performance from pursuit through closeout—overseeing estimating, contract negotiation, bidding, profit/loss accountability, and the supervision of project staff. The VP ensures operational excellence and innovation, influences business decisions at the leadership level, and communicates regularly with executives and external stakeholders to align project outcomes with corporate objectives.
This position carries broad responsibility for people and financial outcomes, including staffing and workforce planning, hiring and promotion decisions within corporate guidelines, and P&L oversight for an entire sub-department, region, or critical project. The successful candidate brings extensive construction leadership experience—typically a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management/Engineering and 17+ years of relevant experience with a proven record of delivering projects on time and meeting or exceeding profit targets. Preferred technical proficiencies include industry tools such as Procore, Revit, AutoCAD, BIM 360, Primavera P6, and JD Edwards, along with certifications like CMIT and Procore Construction Management.
As a senior leader, the VP is recognized as an expert in client relationship management, commercial and risk management, forecasting, subcontractor oversight, and construction documentation. They foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability, guide design and preconstruction planning, and ensure schedules and site logistics are met. Through strong communication and coaching skills, they develop and mentor teams to meet performance goals while protecting the company’s financial and contractual interests and identifying opportunities for business growth.
Currently, the company is not considering applicants for this position who now or in the future require employment sponsorship by the company.
