Purpose of Role

MUFG is seeking a highly experienced Vice President, Product Manager for Transaction Banking Products to lead digital and analytics initiatives within its APAC portfolio. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to drive data and AI-powered solutions that enhance product capabilities, operational efficiency, and customer experience across cash management and trade finance.

What you'll do:

You will be at the forefront of digital transformation within the bank’s transaction banking portfolio. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve shaping the product vision for digital solutions prioritising enhancements that deliver measurable business impact and leading the implementation of advanced data analytics tools powered by AI.

• Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for digital and analytics solutions in Transaction Banking by prioritising features based on business impact, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement AI use cases including generative AI for management reporting, client insights, predictive analytics, workflow automation, and decision-support capabilities.
• Design and deliver executive MIS dashboards and KPI frameworks that provide actionable insights to senior management through automated reporting solutions.
• Support platform transformation efforts by ensuring smooth operation of existing digital products while managing new feature delivery and integration projects.
• Own the strategy, design, and lifecycle management of APIs and digital platforms that enable payment processing, reporting integrations with internal/external systems, and seamless customer experiences.
• Lead regional APAC initiatives by collaborating with key stakeholders to align product management strategies with global objectives.
• Work closely with business units, technology teams (including backend), compliance, risk, and operations to navigate internal priorities in a matrix environment without direct authority.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior team members as well as cross-functional partners by advocating for resources and new initiatives while managing capacity constraints.
• Monitor industry developments in digital trade, fintech innovations, AI applications in banking, and regulatory changes such as ICC rules or AML/sanctions requirements.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions for stakeholders across the organisation.

What you bring:

To excel as Vice President, Product Manager for Transaction Banking Products you will bring extensive experience from product management roles within financial services particularly transaction banking with deep expertise in digital products powered by data analytics or AI. Your background includes building robust databases using modern architectures like Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Platform; applying advanced statistical techniques for business growth; leveraging enterprise reporting ecosystems; and managing API lifecycles from design through integration.

• 8+ years’ experience in product management within Transaction Banking with at least 5 years focused on Data Analytics and AI initiatives.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Finance or related field
• Demonstrated experience in data management, reporting, and analysis with proven ability to apply statistical analysis techniques such as forecasting or predictive modelling to support business growth.
• Deep expertise in Transaction Banking products/processes plus working-level exposure to Cash and Trade Finance verticals is advantageous; strong understanding of API ecosystems essential.
• Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies alongside experience designing/managing APIs (REST/GraphQL) plus familiarity with cloud technologies/AI tooling (Microsoft Fabric/Alteryx/Tableau/Power BI).
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value propositions for stakeholders; proven track record influencing outcomes in resource-constrained environments through effective prioritisation/problem-solving skills.
• Experience building databases for financial/non-financial information across products or regions using modern data architectures like data lakes or warehouses (Microsoft Fabric/Azure Data Platform/ETL pipelines).
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office tools (PowerPoint & Excel) combined with keen attention to detail when preparing reports or presentations.
• Strong written/spoken English communication skills enabling efficient collaboration within diverse teams.
• Ability to multi-task effectively under tight timelines in a fast-moving environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Excellent initiative-taking abilities coupled with interpersonal skills that foster co-operation both independently or within a team setting.
• Exposure to data management/reporting tools such as Alteryx or Tableau is preferred but not mandatory.
• Additional Certifications - (PMP/CSPO/data/AI credentials) are a plus; experience working in regional APAC/global banking environments preferred.
