1. Product Due Diligence & Documentation

  • Perform product due diligence (PDD) for new and existing products, ensuring comprehensive write-ups, approval records are in place.
  • Enforce a clear audit trail for all ongoing and ad-hoc product reviews, including participation in reviews, documentation of outcomes and rationales.
  • Prepare PDD review packs for governance forums, articulating key risks, mitigations etc

2. Product Governance & Regulatory Alignment

  • Own HK product governance standards and ensure product advisory lists, are accurate and compliant with local regulatory requirements (e.g., product complexity, Loss-Absorbing Capacity (LAC) classification).
  • Review and validate product-related materials such as daily/weekly investment publications and monthly product pitchbooks to ensure only approved products are included and product risk ratings remain accurate.
  • Perform annual reviews across multiple domains:
    • Product-level annual review
    • Product providers review
    • Third-party data providers review
    • Product Risk Rating (PRR) framework review
    • Singapore and Hong Kong PDD framework review
  • Conduct gap analysis on product-related regulatory circulars from HKMA, SFC, and other applicable regulators; recommend updates to processes or controls as appropriate.

3. New Product Approval & Lifecycle Management

  • Responsible for product approval process (e.g., alternative funds), ensuring comprehensive approval backs and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Monitor lifecycle events such as product removals, downgrades, or changes in product risk; ensure Front Office is notified for prompt client communication.
  • Oversee updates to local product governance procedures.

4. Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Work closely with SG product teams to ensure alignment of due diligence standards and shared reviews.
  • Partner with Investment Advisors and Senior Client Advisors to assess product suitability, operational readiness, and client use cases.
  • Liaise with third-party data providers and product teams to ensure accuracy of product information and ratings.

5. Reporting, Monitoring & Controls

  • Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance reviews by maintaining high-quality documentation and timely responses.
  • Monitor market events and regulatory changes that may affect product suitability or risk classification..

Job Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Finance / Business Administration or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience in the banking or financial services industry, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in investment product related disciplines.
  • Extensive understanding of investment products (bonds, funds, structured products), product risk frameworks, and regulatory product governance requirements.
  • Proven track record in managing product due diligence, product approvals, and ongoing product reviews within a regulated environment.
  • Experience working with cross-jurisdiction regulatory environments (e.g., HKMA, SFC, MAS) is highly valued.
  • Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a cross-geographical and matrix environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
