Job Description

The Vice President, Procurement – EMEA is a senior strategic leadership role responsible for defining and executing Marriott’s end-to-end Procurement strategy across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. As a key member of both the EMEA Lodging Products Organization leadership team and the global Enterprise Procurement leadership team, this role brings strong commercial acumen and functional expertise to drive profitability for Marriott and participating hotels while enhancing the owner value proposition.

This position leads the EMEA Procurement function across managed hotels and Continent Offices, with a focus on expanding services to the franchised hotel community. Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the role sets and delivers a multi-year Procurement strategy aligned with enterprise priorities and regional business needs, while leading a geographically dispersed team.

The Vice President serves as the senior Procurement authority for the region, partnering closely with global and continent leadership, owners, franchisees, and suppliers. A key focus is to evolve the Procurement function into a market-facing, data-driven organization that delivers measurable value, strengthens stakeholder engagement, and supports long-term growth across all brand segments.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Strategic Leadership & Procurement Transformation

  • Define and execute a multi-year EMEA Procurement strategy aligned with enterprise objectives and regional growth priorities
  • Anticipate market dynamics, cost pressures, and supply chain risks to proactively shape procurement solutions
  • Assess competitiveness of procurement solutions and adjust operating models to drive market share growth and customer satisfaction
  • Represent EMEA perspectives in shaping global Enterprise Procurement strategies and initiatives
  • Establish governance frameworks, performance metrics, and value tracking across procurement programs

Owner, Franchisee & Customer Value

  • Develop and deliver differentiated procurement value propositions for owners and franchise partners
  • Strengthen participation, retention, and satisfaction across procurement programs
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities using market intelligence and customer insights

    • Act as a senior point of contact for key owners, operators, and franchise partners on procurement matters

    • Ensure procurement solutions remain competitive, market-relevant, and aligned with owner ROI expectations

Supplier & Category Leadership

  • Drive strategic value from supplier relationships, ensuring contract compliance and enterprise leverage
  • Partner with sourcing and category teams to deliver solutions aligned with regional needs
  • Oversee engagement models that maximize supplier performance and value realization
  • Support procurement solutions across design, construction, renovations, openings, and re-supply

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance, Asset Management, Development, Lodging Products, Design, Operations, and Franchise Services
  • Support and guide enterprise-wide procurement programs and initiatives
  • Strengthen initiatives that enhance owner engagement, development outcomes, and operational efficiency
  • Act as a trusted advisor to EMEA leadership on procurement-related risks and opportunities

People Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing, geographically dispersed Procurement team
  • Build organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and leadership coaching
  • Foster an inclusive, ethical, and performance-driven culture
  • Champion Marriott’s values and culture across teams and stakeholders

Additional Responsibilities

  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics and compliance with Marriott policies
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence across EMEA

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Experience

  • Minimum 12 years of progressive leadership experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Asset Management, or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in large, international, matrixed organizations
  • Experience in hospitality, real estate, consumer, or service-based industries preferred
  • Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving change across diverse geographies
  • Experience working across EMEA markets strongly preferred

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, or Hospitality preferred
