About this role

About Preqin:

This role sits within Preqin, a part of BlackRock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionising private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.

You will be joining the world's leading data and insights provider for the private markets industry. We empower the finance community with comprehensive data and expert insights so they can make faster and smarter investment decisions with precision and confidence.

This is a leadership role in our regional data team in EMEA. The role will lead a high-performing team responsible for acquiring, maintaining and enhancing exclusive proprietary private markets data across the region. The role combines people leadership, stakeholder management, operational and strategic excellence to ensure delivery of market-leading private markets intelligence to clients globally.

Success in this role requires the ability to develop a deep understanding of the market within the coverage area, build trusted relationships across the private markets ecosystem and drive participation in proprietary data programmes. The role is accountable for team performance, data quality, coverage expansion and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop and hold accountable a high-performing regional team responsible for proprietary private markets data acquisition, market engagement and relationship development across fund managers, investors and industry participants.
  • Set a high-performance bar across data quality, coverage expansion, proprietary data contribution and strategic execution, ensuring the team consistently delivers measurable business impact.
  • Apply sharp commercial judgement and strategic thinking to shape, prioritise and execute data strategy in line with client, product and business priorities.
  • Lead data modernisation and AI-enabled transformation initiatives that improve data acquisition, quality, efficiency and scalability, ensuring the function remains competitive, future-ready and positioned for sustainable growth.
  • Serve as the senior authority for the dataset, bringing deep market knowledge and credible domain expertise to clients, internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
  • Lead from the front by demonstrating strong ownership, sound judgement, collaborative leadership and a consistent track record of high performance.

You are a good fit if:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in data, financial data services or private markets, with a proven track record in people leadership.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing teams in commercially relevant, data-driven environments, with measurable impact on quality, growth, efficiency or client outcomes.
  • A strong, hands-on leader who sets clear expectations, raises performance standards and creates accountability while motivating teams to deliver at pace.
  • Strong relationship management background across client services, investor relations, market intelligence, research or a related field, with confidence engaging senior external stakeholders.
  • Commercially sharp, strategically minded and comfortable making judgement calls in complex, ambiguous or fast-moving environments.
  • Proven ability to drive growth, operational improvement and technology-enabled transformation, including the practical application of AI or automation.
  • Strong executive communication and cross-functional influence, with the ability to partner effectively across Product, Technology, Commercial and Data teams.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
