Job Description

Vice President of Sales

Location: Redwood City, CA (Hybrid)

Founded by ex-Apple Product and Engineering leaders, ASSA ABLOY Level is redefining the smart home with technology that is simple, intuitive, useful, and invisible. At Level, we take a unique approach to designing products - one that shifts focus from what we make to how we make it and who we make it for. It’s an approach that results in elegant and unique solutions, raising the bar for the entire smart home ecosystem.

Now part of the ASSA ABLOY family, a global leader in access solutions, Level is positioned to accelerate innovation and expand our reach even further. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver world-class smart home experiences while maintaining the vision and design excellence that have always set us apart.

About the role:

As the Vice President of Sales, you will own the global sales P&L, strategy, and execution. You will be responsible for nurturing our existing high-profile retail partnerships (e.g., Apple, Best Buy, Amazon) while aggressively identifying and developing new business opportunities in the Pro, Security, and International markets.

This is a role for a builder who understands the nuance of selling premium hardware—where brand integrity and velocity must go hand [1]in-hand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Revenue Growth: Develop and execute a comprehensive multi-channel sales strategy (Retail, E-commerce, Pro/B2B) that aligns with Level’s premium brand positioning.
  • Retail Channel Management: Maintain and deepen relationships with key merchant and buyer teams at major CE retailers (Apple, Best Buy) and home improvement giants (Home Depot, Lowe's). Ensure Level maintains "shelf supremacy" and premium merchandising standards.
  • Pro & Builder Channel Expansion: Accelerate growth in the "Pro" sector by building partnerships with homebuilders, multifamily developers, and security dealers. •
  • Business Development: Create long-term value and growth by identifying new opportunities through partnerships, collaborations and more, extending beyond just near-term, immediate deals.
  • Team Leadership & Culture: Mentor, manage, and scale a high-performing sales organization. Foster a culture of accountability, data-driven decision-making, and deep product knowledge.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing to align on go-to-market strategies and with Product/ Engineering to provide "voice of the customer" feedback that shapes future roadmaps.
  • Forecasting & Operations: Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and inventory planning to ensure operational efficiency and accurate revenue prediction.

Qualifications required to succeed in this role:

  • 10+ Years of Leadership: Proven experience leading sales organizations within the Consumer Electronics (CE), Smart Home, or IoT hardware sectors.
  • Scaling Revenue: A track record of driving significant revenue growth in a hardware environment, specifically navigating the transition from mid-stage growth to mass-market adoption.
  • Retail & Distribution: Deep experience managing National Retail relationships (e.g., Apple, Best Buy, Home Depot) and wholesale distributors. Must demonstrate the ability to negotiate complex term sheets, placement agreements, and MDF programs.
  • Business Development: Success in identifying, prospecting, and cultivating new business opportunities and partnerships
  • Forecasting & Supply Chain: Strong command of sales operations, specifically Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR). Ability to align sales velocity with manufacturing lead times to optimize inventory levels.
  • P&L Management: Full ownership of the sales budget, including accurate revenue forecasting, margin analysis, and cost [1]of-sales management.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The salary range for this role is $250K-$300K, along with a performance bonus target, and we consider a broad scope of factors when making compensation decisions.

  • In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, a 401(k) plan, education assistance, and an environment that reflects our commitment to our employees.

ASSA ABLOY Level is an Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, disability or genetic information, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
