Job Description

SUPERIOR PRODUCTION

VICE PRESIDENT OF OPERATIONS

Are you the kind of operations leader who can walk into a complex manufacturing environment, quickly understand what matters, and help people see what comes next? Do you bring the judgment to know what should be preserved, the confidence to challenge what needs to change, and the energy to bring people with you? Can you pair a proven operating playbook with curiosity, strong business instincts, and respect for the people who know the work best? If you are ready to modernize a proud, long-standing business and help build its next chapter, we want to talk to you!

Our ideal Vice President of Operations is:

  • A trusted people leader. Approachable, grounded, and confident, you earn credibility with experienced people and create the kind of environment where expectations are clear, ownership is real, and leaders can grow.
  • Decisive and steady. You are comfortable making tough calls, addressing issues directly, and keeping the business moving without creating unnecessary noise or drama.
  • Curious and business-minded. You want to understand how the operation works, what the numbers are telling you, and where the biggest opportunities are. You ask good questions, connect the dots, and know when to dig deeper.
  • Driven to improve. Good enough does not stay good enough forever. You naturally look for ways to strengthen systems, processes, equipment, and performance while respecting what has made the business successful.
  • A transformational leader. You know meaningful change happens through people. You can set a clear direction, build confidence around that direction, and lead a team through the hard work of becoming better than it was before.

Superior Production is ready for the next chapter of a legacy that began in 1913. This is an opportunity to help modernize a long-standing manufacturing business, strengthen the operation, and build the foundation for significant growth, future expansion, and new opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Superior Production has an ambitious vision for the future, including significant growth, modernization, and expansion. As Vice President of Operations, you will own the performance of the manufacturing operation and help turn that vision into results.

  • Lead the immediate transformation and modernization of Superior’s manufacturing operations while building the foundation for future growth
  • Own the operational P&L, with accountability for profitability, efficiency, capacity, and investment decisions
  • Lead, manage, and hold operational leaders accountable, ensuring clear expectations, the right people in the right seats, strong coaching, and the tools needed to succeed
  • Own manufacturing performance across safety, customer satisfaction, quality, delivery, equipment reliability, productivity, material planning, and continuous improvement
  • Build the systems, data, metrics, and reporting needed to understand performance, identify priorities, and make better decisions
  • Create the capacity needed to support increased sales and future growth, improving output and efficiency without sacrificing quality or delivery
  • Strengthen maintenance and equipment reliability while guiding modernization of equipment, facilities, and plant layout
  • Create a culture of improvement, collaboration, and ownership where people feel confident making decisions and contributing to results
  • Operate as a cross-functional leader, working with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and HR to keep the operation aligned with broader business needs
  • Take ownership of major operational priorities that cut across plants or functions and drive them through to completion
  • Champion the thoughtful use of technology, automation, equipment, and AI where they can improve how the business operates
  • This is a full-time, onsite role based in Columbus, OH. *
