We are seeking a Vice President of Group Operations to join the team. The Vice President of Operations is responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership of the facility, ensuring alignment with business goals, employee development, and cross-functional efficiency. Reporting to the President of MRO Services, this role drives continuous improvement across production, quality, safety, and team performance in support of company objectives and customer satisfaction. This position is based in Medley, FL, with regular travel to all MRO locations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for all MRO operations, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, business plans, and long-term growth strategies.
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that achieve company goals for safety, quality, turnaround time (TAT), customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and profitability.
  • Collaborate with each business leader on the day-to-day activities of multiple MRO facilities, overseeing maintenance, repair, overhaul, and modification activities while driving consistency and operational excellence across all locations.
  • P&L responsibility, including budgeting, cost control, resource allocation, capital planning, and initiatives to improve operational margins and financial performance.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, Human Resources, and other business leaders to drive cross-functional execution, strategic initiatives, and business performance.
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, and process optimization initiatives to maximize productivity, quality, efficiency, and resource utilization.
  • Standardize operational processes, performance metrics, and KPIs across all facilities while monitoring results and implementing corrective actions when performance deviates from established goals.
  • Ensure full compliance with FAA, EASA, AS9110, ISO, SMS, and all applicable aviation regulations, quality standards, and internal governance requirements.
  • Lead the enterprise-wide Safety Management System (SMS) program, ensuring effective implementation, regulatory compliance, risk identification, hazard reporting, safety performance monitoring, and the continuous advancement of a proactive safety culture across all MRO operations.
  • Champion a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence by promoting compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the organization.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing leadership team, including operations, quality, and departmental leaders, while driving succession planning, workforce development, employee engagement, and organizational capability.
  • Strengthen company culture by promoting collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and alignment with organizational values.
  • Maintain strong relationships with airlines, OEMs, leasing companies, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to ensure exceptional customer service, contract execution, and long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure service delivery excellence through on-time performance, responsiveness, and proactive resolution of customer concerns, implementing corrective and preventive actions when necessary.
  • Support business development activities, including customer visits, proposals, RFP responses, and successful onboarding of new programs.
  • Lead change management initiatives that enable the organization to adapt to evolving customer requirements, market conditions, and business priorities.
  • Assess facility capacity, infrastructure, equipment, and tooling requirements, leading capital investment projects, automation initiatives, and facility expansion efforts to support future growth.
  • Develop and maintain business continuity, risk mitigation, and crisis response plans to effectively manage supply chain disruptions, labor challenges, regulatory issues, and other operational risks.
  • Serve as the senior operational leader during critical incidents, ensuring effective decision-making, communication, and recovery efforts.
  • Provide regular operational and financial performance updates to executive leadership, using data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Perform other executive leadership responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or similar) preferred
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, preferably within aerospace or manufacturing industries
  • Proven success in leading multi operations, large teams, driving operational initiatives, and managing complex processes
