The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Account Management to build and lead MedReview’s Account Management function. This leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Account Management team, direct oversight of MedReview’s most strategic client relationships, and development of account strategies that improve retention, client satisfaction, and revenue growth. The Vice President will create a consistent, consultative approach to account management and serve as the primary escalation point between clients and MedReview.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management Leadership
- Build and lead a high-performing Account Management team with clear roles, coverage models, service standards, and performance expectations.
- Develop and implement consistent account management processes, tools, meeting cadences, and documentation standards.
- Coach Account Managers on strategic relationship management, executive communication, issue resolution, and commercial growth.
- Establish portfolio-level visibility into client health, retention risk, growth opportunities, and profitability.
- Promote accountability for timely follow-up, accurate communication, and coordinated client support.
Strategic Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the senior relationship leader for MedReview’s largest and most strategic accounts, including key national health plan relationships.
- Build trusted relationships with client executives, operational leaders, and key decision-makers.
- Develop and execute client strategies that support retention, satisfaction, and long-term growth.
- Lead internal portfolio reviews and ensure Account Managers deliver effective client-facing business reviews.
- Act as the first senior escalation point for client issues, service concerns, and relationship risks.
Retention and Account Growth
- Lead account planning to identify cross-sell, upsell, and new-solution opportunities within existing clients.
- Partner with Business Development, Product, Operations, and senior leaders to evaluate and prioritize expansion opportunities.
- Support new-client acquisition by contributing client insight, solution positioning, and relationship continuity during the sales process.
- Develop retention plans for at-risk accounts and proactively address competitive threats.
- Develop and track key metrics to assess overall account health, including growth, retention, client satisfaction, profitability, and opportunity conversion.
- Develop and track performance metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness and success of the Account Management team.
- Own adherence to client SLAs, ensuring service commitments and performance standards are consistently met.
Client Delivery and Commercial Coordination
- Partner closely with Operations to support delivery excellence and positive client outcomes.
- Negotiate service level agreements in partnership with appropriate internal leaders and ensure Account Managers monitor performance.
- Coordinate resolution of claims aging, recovery execution, payment, and other issues that may affect client value or MedReview revenue.
- Ensure the Account Management team serves as the central point of coordination between clients and MedReview.
- Support effective implementation and transition of new clients, products, and services.
Voice of the Customer
- Bring client feedback, market intelligence, and emerging needs into internal planning and decision-making.
- Partner with Product Development and Operations to improve solutions, client experience, and competitive differentiation.
- Champion a consultative approach focused on client outcomes and measurable value.
- Identify common themes across accounts and recommend enterprise-level improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive experience in healthcare Account Management, client success, payment integrity, managed care, revenue cycle, healthcare technology, or a related field, including significant leadership experience.
- Proven success by retaining and expanding large, complex healthcare accounts.
- Experience building or significantly improving an Account Management or client success function.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare payment integrity, claims operations, payer-provider dynamics, reimbursement methodologies, and service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage executive client relationships, negotiate effectively, and resolve complex issues.
- Experience developing account plans, leading business reviews, managing client health metrics, and driving cross-sell and upsell activity.
- Polished, articulate communicator with strong executive presence and sound judgment.
- Ability to work effectively across a matrixed organization and hold teams accountable without direct authority.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting national health plans and large, complex payer organizations.
- Experience with technology, SaaS, or data-enabled healthcare solutions.
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 12 to 24 months, this leader will:
- Build a clearly defined and scalable Account Management function.
- Strengthen relationships with MedReview’s largest and most strategic clients.
- Improve retention, satisfaction, and executive engagement across the client portfolio.
- Implement consistent account planning, client health, escalation, and business review processes.
- Develop a qualified pipeline of cross-sell and upsell opportunities within existing accounts.
- Improve coordination among Account Management, Operations, Product, Finance, and implementation teams.
- Establish a high-performing team with clear expectations, coaching, and accountability.
Salary Range: $250,000 - $300,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
