Position Summary

The Vice President, North America, Surgical Commercial is responsible for the overall commercial strategy, business performance, and growth of the Surgical business across North America. This role provides executive leadership for Sales and Training, with accountability for revenue, profitability, market share, customer engagement, and portfolio adoption. As a member of the Global Leadership Team, the incumbent serves as the primary commercial leader for North America and strategic advisor to the President & General Manager, Global Surgical, driving execution of business strategy, investment priorities, and organizational effectiveness.

As a People Manager, this position is critical to leading, developing, and inspiring a high-performing team to deliver results aligned with organizational goals while building organizational capability through talent development, built around a culture of accountability, and continuous improvement. This role requires strong cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment and drive integrated solutions across the business. As a leader, this role must set a visible standard of our culture and values, creating an aligned, purpose-driven environment where individuals feel empowered to contribute and grow.

This role will continue to transform the Surgical Commercial North America organization to a clinically differentiated, high margin, strategic, customer driven unit demonstrating superior clinical and health economic outcomes, and a compelling patient care value proposition.

The Vice President, Commercial Surgical, North America is a remote based position with a preference for Morrisville, North Carolina.

Principal Responsibilities

• Drives overall business performance across North America by aligning commercial strategy, portfolio priorities, customer investments, and organizational capabilities to achieve operating plan commitments and long-term growth objectives.
• Builds a high-performing organization through talent development, succession planning, organizational transformation, and a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Creates strategic alignment across functions by fostering open communication, trust, mutual respect, shared accountability, and collaborative problem-solving in support of enterprise priorities.
• Represents Teleflex with the highest standards of professionalism, service, and ethics to strengthen the customer experience, the Teleflex brand, and customer relationships.
• Leads commercial strategy and effectiveness initiatives, including go-to-market execution, customer segmentation, key account programs, sales-force effectiveness, digital tools, analytics, and channel optimization to maximize growth and customer outcomes.
• Champions continuous improvement by identifying and prioritizing process and performance gaps, developing solutions, and leading the organization to deliver sustained improvement.
• Serves as a key member of the Surgical Leadership Team and contributes to the development and execution of short- and long-term business strategy.
• Evolves organizational structure, capabilities, and operating models to support strategic growth objectives and changing market dynamics.
• Provides overall commercial leadership across Sales and Training, partnering with R&D, Regulatory, Human Resources, Finance, Operations, Clinical and Medical Affairs, and other functions to drive portfolio adoption and business performance.
• Partners with Sales, Finance, and Operations to optimize pricing, gross margin, demand planning, commercial execution, and sales-force effectiveness across customer call points.
• Evaluates new technologies and M&A opportunities with Business Dev. and R&D, including testing, validation, diligence, valuation, and strategic investment recommendations.
• Builds executive relationships with key healthcare stakeholders, including health systems, GPOs, distributors, professional societies, and KOLs, to strengthen market position, inform strategy, and advance business growth.
• Monitors competitors and market dynamics and translates insights into actionable strategies that sustain market leadership and respond to market developments.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Minimum 15 years of progressive commercial leadership experience in the medical device, healthcare, or life sciences industry, including significant leadership responsibility across both Sales and Marketing functions.
• Demonstrated success leading a multi-functional commercial organization with P&L accountability.
• Proven track record accelerating growth through strategic marketing, commercial transformation, and successful product commercialization.
• BS/BA in Business Administration or similar is required.
• MBA or advanced degree is desirable.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead organizations through business transformation, organizational redesign, integration, or significant changes initiatives.
• Ability to synthesize clinical, financial, and market insights into strategic business decisions.
• Experience leading and developing senior leaders across multiple commercial functions.
• Must be able to produce quality work output while adhering to strict deadlines at high senior executive level.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills which include a high degree of diplomacy as this position will interact with a wide range of individuals including high level executives both internal and external to the Company including shareholders and the Board of Directors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple strategic priorities and execute effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage ambiguity and drive results.
• Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate market, financial, and clinical insights into actionable business strategies.
• Excellent executive communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence diverse internal and external stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and align teams across a highly matrixed global organization.
• Business Acumen - understands business implications of decisions, displays orientation to profitability, demonstrates knowledge of market and competition and aligns work with strategic goals.
• Works within approved budget, develops and implements cost saving measures and contributes to profits and revenue.
