
Purpose of the role
To ensure that the activities of the business units in the Markets division are conducted in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, and to help the bank manage legal risk associated with these activities.

Join us as a Vice President, Markets Lawyer -Prime Brokerage & Fixed Income Financing. You will act as a trusted advisor within the Markets Legal team, providing expert guidance across fixed income financing activities, including repo and sponsored repo, prime brokerage and futures and clearing. You will support complex financing transactions, advise on regulatory developments, and partner closely with stakeholders to identify legal risks and deliver commercially sound solutions. This role offers exposure to new product development, legal issue identification, and regulatory horizon scanning across global markets. You will play a key role in negotiating trading agreements, supporting clearing frameworks, and ensuring compliance within a dynamic and evolving financial services environment.
To be successful as a Vice President, Markets Lawyer -Prime Brokerage & Fixed Income Financing, you should have:
Experience with fixed income financing, including repo and sponsored (cleared) repo, and fixed income prime brokerage clearing
Experience with Futures/Cleared derivatives, prime brokerage and similar financing businesses (e.g., financing/clearing of securities and cleared derivatives)
Knowledge of broker-dealer and futures commission merchant rules (e.g., margin, customer protection, insolvency rules and regulations) and the US securities and derivatives markets, hedge funds and the financial markets more broadly
Experience with negotiation of master trading agreements and netting Familiarity with non-US legal and regulatory frameworks (UK, EU, APAC)

Minimum Salary: $200,000
Maximum Salary: $290,000
