About this Role
We are seeking a Vice President, Logistics to provide executive leadership over logistics operations across Quanta's network of operating companies. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive logistics strategy that supports the efficient movement of materials, equipment, and fleet assets across a large, geographically dispersed infrastructure construction business. The Vice President, Logistics partners with operating company leadership, procurement, fleet, and supply chain teams to standardize processes, optimize costs, and build logistics capabilities that directly support Quanta's field operations and project execution. This is a senior executive role requiring deep expertise in logistics and supply chain management, strong financial acumen, and the ability to influence across a decentralized organization at scale.
What You'll Do
Logistics Strategy & Operations
- Develop and execute a comprehensive logistics strategy aligned with QSI Management and operating company operational and financial objectives;
- Oversee the end-to-end logistics function including transportation management, freight operations, warehouse and yard operations, material handling, and last-mile delivery to project sites;
- Establish and enforce logistics standards, policies, and procedures across operating companies to drive consistency, efficiency, and cost control;
- Monitor logistics KPIs and operational performance metrics, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives; and
- Evaluate and implement logistics technologies, systems, and platforms to enhance visibility, tracking, and operational efficiency across the network.
Fleet & Equipment Management
- Provide executive oversight of fleet management operations, including vehicle and equipment procurement, utilization, maintenance, and disposal strategies;
- Partner with operating company leadership to optimize fleet deployment and equipment availability in support of active and upcoming projects; and
- Drive fleet cost management initiatives including total cost of ownership analysis, lease vs. buy evaluations, and utilization improvement programs.
Vendor & Carrier Management
- Lead the development and management of strategic relationships with transportation carriers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), freight brokers, and logistics vendors;
- Negotiate contracts, service level agreements, and pricing with logistics partners to ensure competitive, reliable, and compliant service delivery;
- Monitor vendor performance against established SLAs and drive accountability through structured performance reviews; and
- Identify and qualify new logistics partners to support geographic expansion and operating company growth.
Supply Chain & Procurement Alignment
- Collaborate with the procurement and supply chain teams to align logistics strategy with material sourcing, inventory management, and project delivery timelines;
- Support operating companies in managing inbound freight, staging, and kitting of materials to ensure right-time delivery to project sites; and
- Identify opportunities to consolidate freight spend, leverage buying power, and reduce total logistics costs across the enterprise.
Compliance, Safety & Risk Management
- Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, hazardous materials handling standards, and all applicable federal, state, and local transportation laws;
- Champion a strong safety culture across all logistics and fleet operations, partnering with EHS leadership to drive zero-incident performance; and
- Identify and mitigate logistics-related risks including supply disruption, carrier capacity constraints, and regulatory exposure.
Financial Management & Reporting
- Own the logistics function's budget, forecasting, and financial performance reporting;
- Identify and deliver cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities across transportation, warehousing, fleet, and freight spend; and
- Provide regular logistics performance and financial reporting to senior leadership, including variance analysis and forward-looking trend assessments.
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing logistics leadership team across QSI Management and supporting operating companies;
- Partner with Human Resources on succession planning, talent development, and organizational design for the logistics function; and
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the team.
What You'll Bring
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field;
- 15 or more years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation leadership, with significant P&L responsibility;
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-site logistics operations in construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy, or a comparable field-operations-intensive industry;
- Deep knowledge of transportation management, fleet operations, freight procurement, and warehouse management;
- Strong working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and applicable transportation regulatory requirements;
- Proven ability to develop and execute logistics strategy at an enterprise level within a large, decentralized organization;
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing logistics budgets and driving cost reduction initiatives; and
- Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's degree or MBA preferred;
- Experience implementing or optimizing transportation management systems (TMS), fleet management platforms, or logistics technology solutions preferred;
- APICS CSCP, CLTD, or equivalent supply chain/logistics certification preferred; and
- Experience supporting logistics operations for field construction, utility, or specialty infrastructure businesses a plus.
