About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Quantitative Analytics Specialist.

Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) delivers a comprehensive suite of banking, capital markets and advisory solutions, including a full complement to sales, trading and research capabilities, to corporate, government and institutional clients. The Markets vertical is an integral part of CIB. The Model Development and Maintenance (MDM) team is an extension of the US Front Office team within the markets vertical and is an extension of the global quant team. The team works in various asset classes like Interest Rate, Credit, Equity, Commodity, FX and XVA on models that are used for pricing, risk management and stress testing. Vasara is a joint venture between Technology and Quants, and is our strategic next-generation risk, pricing and analytics platform. This role will be primarily for but not limited to Vasara.

In this role, you will:

Lead complex initiatives including creation, implementation, documentation, validation, articulation, and defense of highly statistical theory

Qualify monitor markets and forecast credit and operational risks

Strategize short and long-term objectives, and provide analytical support for a wide array of business initiatives

Utilize stochastic, structured securities, spread analysis, with the expertise in the theory and mathematics behind the analysis

Review and assess models inclusive of technical, audit, and market perspectives

Identify structure and scope of review

Enable decision making for product and marketing with broad impact and act as key participant to develop and document analytical models

Collaborate and consult with regulators and auditors

Present results of analysis and strategies

Required Qualifications:

5+ years of Quantitative Analytics experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science

Desired Qualification

Master's degree or higher in computer science or finance/mathematics

Experience in building large scalable systems. Hands-on coding experience, Java is most relevant

Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively within a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities but still following strict deadlines

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Experience developing Enterprise scale software platforms.

Experience with asynchronous event driven or reactive programming architectures

Experience working extremely well independently and self-motivated

Must have good knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming.

Must have good knowledge of Java 11, Python, Spring Framework, Groovy, Database management with MySQL/MongoDB (Any RDBMS experience will be useful)

Experience of Gradle, IntelliJ, Github, Jenkins, CI-CD pipeline

Experience of DevOps configuring distributed tech like Apache Kafka, Akka and Deephaven Framework.

Enterprise scale risk platforms with complex data environments, distributed processing, DAG architecture

Work in an agile development environment

Ability to navigate large, complex codebase and come up with working code

Capital markets knowledge in Rates & FX, ideally credit, including cash and derivatives securities

Ability to work with leading JavaScript frameworks/lib like React/Angular will be given preference

Ideally should have sound knowledge of Linux

Complete deliverables for strategic Vasara project

Participate in complex software design, development and testing activities

Proactively engage with other members of the Quant and Tech teams to address issues and blockers

Use quantitative and technological techniques to solve complex business problems

Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and project managers to resolve issues and achieve goals

Effectively communicate with and build consensus with all project stakeholders including US teams
