We are seeking a Vice President, IT Management Office (ITMO) to lead the governance, planning, and execution of technology initiatives, ensuring alignment between IT strategy, business objectives, and organizational priorities.
The VP, ITMO is responsible for ensuring GLOC’s technology investments are translated into tangible business value through disciplined execution, enterprise-wide visibility, and strong governance. The role leads the prioritisation and delivery of the technology portfolio, ensuring initiatives are aligned to strategic objectives, appropriately resourced, and executed with clear accountability for outcomes. Acting as the central control point for technology change, the VP ITMO provides leadership with a single, reliable view of progress, risks, and interdependencies, while enforcing performance standards across internal teams and external partners. Critically, the role extends beyond delivery oversight to drive adoption and benefits realisation, ensuring that implemented solutions achieve their intended operational, financial, and customer impact.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategic Planning & Technology Roadmap
• Develop, maintain, and execute GLOC’s technology roadmap aligned with business strategy and enterprise architecture standards.
• Partner with business leaders to understand priorities, challenges, and growth objectives, translating these into clear, actionable technology initiatives.
• Identify and drive opportunities where technology can improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and business performance.
• Ensure business demand is appropriately prioritised and translated into a coherent, achievable roadmap in collaboration with enterprise technology and PMO functions.
2. Business Engagement & Solution Enablement
• Act as the primary interface between the business and technology teams, ensuring alignment from concept through to implementation and adoption.
• Translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions.
• Ensure solutions are aligned to business needs, operational realities, and enterprise standards.
• Maintain a clear stakeholder map, ensuring effective engagement across business leaders, Group functions, and external partners.
3. IT Risk Management, Cybersecurity & Compliance
• Lead IT risk management across GLOC, ensuring appropriate controls over availability, access, data integrity, and system resilience.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
• Oversee cybersecurity practices, vulnerability management, and incident response readiness in alignment with Group standards and expectations.
• Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit to proactively identify and mitigate technology-related risks.
4. IT Operations & Service Delivery
• Oversee day-to-day IT operations within GLOC, ensuring stable, secure, and efficient service delivery.
• Ensure systems availability, performance, and reliability meet business needs and agreed service levels.
• Drive continuous improvement in IT service delivery, support models, and user experience.
• Ensure appropriate disaster recovery, business continuity, and failover capabilities are in place and tested.
5. Project Alignment & Delivery Oversight (PMO Interface)
• Work closely with the PMO to ensure all technology initiatives are clearly defined, prioritised, and aligned with business objectives and operational readiness.
• Provide ongoing business context, requirements clarity, and stakeholder alignment to support effective delivery.
• Ensure readiness for implementation, including business preparedness, process alignment, and transition to operations.
• Hold accountability for ensuring delivered solutions meet business needs and intended outcomes.
6. Budget, Financial Management & Vendor Oversight
• Develop and manage GLOC’s IT budget, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and cost efficiency.
• Monitor financial performance, proactively managing variances and optimising technology spend.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and performance, ensuring delivery against agreed service levels and value expectations.
• Support procurement processes, contract negotiations, and ongoing vendor governance.
7. Governance, Reporting & Executive / Board Engagement
• Establish and maintain effective IT governance within GLOC, aligned with Group standards and expectations.
• Prepare and present structured updates to executive leadership and the Board, providing clear visibility into performance, initiatives, risks, and value delivered.
• Translate complex technology matters into concise, business-relevant insights to support decision-making.
• Highlight key risks, dependencies, and trade-offs, enabling timely and informed governance actions.
8. Leadership, People & Culture
• Provide leadership, direction, and performance oversight for IT teams within GLOC.
• Build and sustain a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative team environment.
• Drive capability development, succession planning, and continuous learning within the IT function.
• Foster a culture of ownership, service excellence, and alignment with broader organisational values.
9. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Collaborate with business and Group stakeholders to identify and implement innovative technology solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and service delivery models.
• Ensure technology capabilities evolve to support changing business needs and strategic ambitions.
10. Administrative Oversight & Control Environment
• Ensure appropriate management of access controls, user permissions, and system administration activities.
• Maintain oversight of critical administrative processes, including system configurations, credentials, and operational controls.
• Ensure documentation, standards, and operational procedures are maintained and adhered to across GLOC’s IT environment.
11. Value Realisation & Adoption
• Ensure technology initiatives deliver intended business outcomes through effective stakeholder engagement and adoption.
• Partner with business leaders to embed solutions into day-to-day operations and realise measurable benefits.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• First Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution
• First Degree in an IT-related field is optional but advantageous
• At least 7-10 years’ experience at a senior management level in the ICT field
• Experience developing and executing IT strategies
• Experience in the implementation of enterprise-wide IT programmes
• Experience developing teams and people
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT:
As a regulated entity with obligations under the Know Your Employee guidelines, a Certificate of Character is required.
