Job Description

Purpose of the role

To raise capital and manage the financial risk of clients, including financial advisory services, identification and origination of market opportunities, research, economic analysis. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate, financial and institutional clients to understand their financing needs and objectives.  .
  • Development and maintenance of complex financial models to assess the value of assets, companies, or securities and identify the most appropriate structuring of capital raising initiatives, including equity financing via an initial public offerings, investment grade debt underwriting, leveraged financing solutions for non-investment grade clients, or derivative hedging solutions.  .
  • Collaboration with Coverage, M&A, Syndicate, Global Markets, and cross functional teams to ensure successful origination, company due diligence, and execution of various capital market transactions.  .
  • Identification, assessment, and management of risks associated with capital markets transactions and development of risk mitigation strategies in alignment with regulatory requirements.  .
  • Research, financial data analysis and continued development of market insights and investment recommendations.  .

Join us as a Vice President - Investment Banking, where you will drive business development by identifying debt financing opportunities, building strong client relationships, and expanding Barclays’ presence across the mid-to-large corporate segment in India.

Where you will

  • Originate business opportunities across debt financing products including DCM, syndicated loans, and structured credit.
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with corporate clients while driving new client acquisition.
  • Partner with internal banking teams to deliver tailored financing solutions aligned to client needs.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities across Barclays’ broader Corporate & Investment Banking product suite.
  • Maintain a strong target pipeline through market research and proactive client engagement.

To be successful in this role, you should

  • Demonstrate strong corporate banking relationship management and business development experience.
  • Possess sound understanding of debt financing and structured banking solutions.
  • Be commercially driven with strong client engagement and influencing capabilities.

Essential Skills / Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, or Relationship Management.
  • Knowledge of debt financing products including syndicated lending and DCM.
  • Proven business development and client acquisition experience.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Skills / Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience covering mid-to-large corporates within the Indian market.
  • Exposure to structured financing or bespoke credit solutions.
  • Strong understanding of industry and sector dynamics.
