Job Description

Vice President, Infrastructure Solution Engineer

At BNY, our culture allows us to run our company better and enables employees’ growth and success. As a leading global financial services company at the heart of the global financial system, we influence nearly 20% of the world’s investible assets. Every day, our teams harness cutting-edge AI and breakthrough technologies to collaborate with clients, driving transformative solutions that redefine industries and uplift communities worldwide.

Recognized as a top destination for innovators, BNY is where bold ideas meet advanced technology and exceptional talent. Together, we power the future of finance – and this is what #LifeAtBNY is all about. Join us and be part of something extraordinary.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice Presidentto join our team. This role is located in Pune

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Build and maintain Python-based AI workflows using LLM frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar.

  • Integrate with AI SDKs and LLM providers (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) to build conversational agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, and tool-using agents.

  • Implement agentic patterns including multi-agent orchestration, stateful graph-based workflows, tool-calling, memory management, and human-in-the-loop flows.

  • Translate business SOPs and runbooks into structured, executable agent workflows with deterministic routing and escalation logic.

  • Identify manual, repetitive business processes and architect automation solutions using AI agents equipped with relevant tools (APIs, databases, ticketing systems, etc.).

  • Design agents that can operate semi-autonomously or fully autonomously, with appropriate guardrails, confidence thresholds, and fallback paths.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture SOP logic, edge cases, and exception handling requirements and encode them into agent behavior.

  • Monitor agent performance, analyze failure modes, and iterate on prompts, routing, and tool definitions.

  • Analyze existing manual workflows to identify automation opportunities with high ROI.

  • Decompose complex requirements into well-scoped technical tasks with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Debug and root-cause issues across the stack — from Oracle query plans to LLM hallucinations to Angular state bugs.

  • Produce clear technical documentation for agents, workflows, and API contracts.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science/ engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required

  • Solid Python proficiency: familiarity with async/await, type hints, virtual environments, and packaging.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one LLM orchestration framework (LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalent).

  • Experience consuming LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, etc.) and working with prompt engineering best practices.

  • Exposure to agentic AI concepts: tool-calling, function calling, ReAct patterns, RAG, vector stores.

  • Familiarity with FastAPI or similar Python API frameworks for serving AI pipelines.

  • Demonstrated ability to break down ambiguous business problems into technical requirements.

  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting instincts across multiple layers of a system.

  • Comfort reading and interpreting SOPs, business process documents, and workflow diagrams.

  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD basics, Docker, and working in a team-based agile environment.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
