Roles and Responsibilities

  • This position will be directly responsible for managing the offshore team and the delivery of the assignments to offshore for the Finance Technology team
  • Direct software engineering tasks and participate in the design, development, and deployment of applications and processes required to fulfill specific business requirements
  • Validates and ensures that functional requirements are met.
  • Conducts formal implementation reviews.
  • Successful candidates will have 12+ years of experience managing large and vried technical team in the financial services industry / vertical.
  • Candidates with experience implementing EPM / ERP and / or OFSAA solutions for large banks is good to have.
  • Document and implement best practices, conduct code reviews and highlight opportunities to use advanced features to keep code optimal, readable and clean.
  • Responsible for offshore deliverables and resources
  • Provides formal and informal user training and general user support.
  • Functions as an internal consultant for the applications support team.
  • Expert/lead technical role.
  • Works on large, complex projects that have enterprise wide impact and require subject matter expertise of multiple process improvement areas and mastery of process improvement tools.
  • Works as a project team member on multiple projects to facilitate process improvements involving multiple sites or business areas, often as a project leader.
  • Lead responsibilities include directing, monitoring and assigning work to those on the team.
  • Provides technical work guidance or mentoring to a small project team of 4 – 6 members.
  • May provide input to the managers/supervisor on staff performance.
  • Coaches and mentors more junior staff.

Job Requirements:

Bachelors’ Degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Experience in the financial services or banking industry is preferred.

  • Minimum 12+ years of offshore team / people management experience, especially in an onshore-offshore work mode.
  • Experience in playing liaison role between onshore-offshore, enabling team members to perform their day-to-day job activities and handling conflicts & escalations.
  • Good people management/interpersonal skills
  • Minimum 7 years of developing and managing teams with varied technical skills in the financial services vertical.
  • Experience implementing Oracle packaged solutions like Enterprise Performance Cloud Service and / or, Oracle ERP Cloud Services is a big plus.
  • Experience in Banking or Financial Services Technology with a good understanding of Banking and financial instrument accounting.
  • Experience in implementing OFSAA for Profitability or Liquidity Risk is plus.
  • Experience with Data Integration and ETL
  • Experience implementing and maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Experience in designing data models and structures to store various kinds of data in different formats.
  • Experience with RDBMS based databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
  • Experience designing ad-hoc reports or templates utilizing Smart-View Add-in
  • Knowledgeable in user provisioning and administration of Oracle SaaS applications
  • Knowledgeable on Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Great to have experience with Oracle Essbase, Hyperion Planning, HFM (11.1.2+), Oracle DRM (11.1.2+). Oracle Fusion, Financial Ledgers
  • Comfortable navigating dynamic environments, ambiguity and being a catalyst to drive decisions
  • Ability to effectively uncover, align and manage stakeholders needs and expectations
  • Action oriented - escalates and resolves issues in a timely manner
  • Understands financial planning, project budgeting, and expense tracking to successfully manage project budgets to completion
  • Working knowledge of complex technology systems implementations, with ability to effectively communicate with technology and business partners
