Job Description

Key Responsibilities *

  1. Work with business units to identify areas of opportunities (e.g. in green, transition, social, financial inclusion etc.) and develop strategies to position CIMB to strategically tap into and capture these opportunities.

  1. Develop new and enhance existing sustainability-related products, services and propositions (e.g. green/social/sustainable/transition loans/bonds/sukuk, retail products, advisory propositions etc) to capture new opportunities. 

  1. Play the role of a Sustainability specialist to lead or support client engagements on sustainability focus areas, including structuring or reviewing the sustainability structure for sustainable finance deals or transactions.

  1. Engage and represent CIMB with external partners such as technical service providers, sustainability consultants, industry associations etc to develop win-win solutions.

  1. Serve as an expert on sustainability-related regulations, guidelines and practices, and keep key stakeholders across the Group abreast of material developments influencing sustainable finance.

  1. Drive the annual sustainable finance strategy planning process, including regular management reviews, project management and overall coordination with Business Units on sustainability matters.

  1. Develop and implement internal guidelines to govern existing sustainable finance processes based on the latest industry principles, best practices, taxonomies, regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures etc.

  1. Upskill Relationship Managers, product owners and risk teams on Sustainability concepts, issues and opportunities, and embed a culture of sustainability and mindset of Sustainable Finance across all Business Units regionally.

Qualifications

(Basic Degree/Diploma etc)

Degree from a recognised University. A degree or certification in Sustainability or Sustainable Finance would be advantageous.

Relevant Work Experience

More than 10 years of relevant experience in Banking, Sustainable Finance, Sustainability or related financial service roles preferably with at least 3 years of experience in a Sustainability or Sustainable Finance related role. Demonstrated experience in product development, transaction structuring, business development, or client advisory is strongly preferred.

  1. Working knowledge and experience of Banking products and services, in both business and retail segments

  1. Technical knowledge of sustainability and sustainable finance concepts 

  1. Capability to identify new sustainable finance opportunities and develop execution plans, by leveraging on external networks

  1. Ability to represent the bank on sustainability matters with clients or stakeholders

  1. Experience in collaborating with multiple teams and business unit

  1. Able to effectively manage projects, and juggle multiple urgent priorities
