COMPANY INFORMATION
LandSolutions is actively engaged in all areas of land access, including Power (Generation and Transmission), Public Infrastructure, Renewable Energy, Oil and Gas (Upstream and Midstream), and Telecommunications. We are supported by more than 170 professionals and are well-established throughout the United States and Canada.
THE OPPORTUNITY
LandSolutions is seeking a Vice President, Growth & Business Development to lead our next phase of growth in the United States.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this is a senior executive role with responsibility for shaping and executing LandSolutions' U.S. growth strategy, developing new client relationships, expanding strategic accounts, strengthening our business development capabilities, and building a disciplined and scalable approach to growth.
This is a builder role for a commercially driven leader who enjoys creating opportunities, developing relationships from the ground up, and turning market insight into results. The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to business development and will be comfortable operating in long-cycle, relationship-driven markets.
While the primary focus will be the United States, the role will also contribute to broader enterprise growth strategy and selected cross-border opportunities as LandSolutions continues to expand.
What You’ll Do
LEAD U.S. GROWTH
- Develop and execute LandSolutions' U.S. growth strategy across priority markets, sectors, service lines, and accounts.
- Identify, develop, and convert new client and market opportunities.
- Build relationships with senior decision-makers and establish LandSolutions as a trusted partner in new and existing markets.
- Develop strategic account and pursuit plans that translate relationships into sustainable, profitable growth.
- Maintain a strong, qualified pipeline and provide clear visibility into opportunities, forecasts, risks, and priorities.
- Partner with Operations and Finance to ensure growth opportunities align with delivery capacity, commercial expectations, and margin objectives.
BUILD OUR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CAPABILITY
- Lead and coach the U.S. business development team and strengthen collaboration between business development and operational leaders.
- Establish practical and scalable approaches to account planning, pipeline management, opportunity qualification, CRM use, forecasting, and pursuit management.
- Build a repeatable growth model that complements the strong client relationships and technical expertise already present across the organization.
- Establish clear roles and accountability across business development, operations, finance, marketing, and executive leadership during major pursuits.
EXPAND MARKETS & STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS
- Identify opportunities to enter new markets, expand service offerings, and develop strategic partnerships.
- Provide market intelligence and recommendations on alliances, acquisition opportunities, and other avenues for organic and inorganic growth.
- Participate in selected cross-border opportunities involving U.S. and Canadian capabilities.
- Contribute to enterprise strategic planning and longer-term growth decisions.
SHAPE OUR MARKET PRESENCE
- Help define the marketing and growth-enablement strategy required to support U.S. expansion.
- Develop a compelling, client-centered sales story and ensure it is consistently reflected across major pursuits and market-facing activities.
- Guide priorities related to industry presence, thought leadership, conferences, target-account campaigns, and pursuit materials.
- Work with internal and external resources to ensure marketing investment is focused on activities that support commercial growth.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
We’re looking for an experienced growth leader who brings:
- A demonstrated ability to build new markets and win new business, including developing senior client relationships from a cold start.
- Significant experience in long-cycle, relationship-driven, multi-stakeholder B2B sales.
- Relevant industry experience in right-of-way, land services, utilities, infrastructure, engineering, environmental services, energy, or a closely related consulting/professional services environment.
- Executive-level credibility and the ability to work effectively with senior clients and internal leadership.
- Experience developing and executing market, account, and business development strategies.
- Strong commercial judgment, including opportunity qualification, pipeline management, forecasting, and pursuit strategy.
- Experience building, coaching, and developing business development professionals and seller-doers.
- The ability to balance strategy with execution—you are equally comfortable shaping a growth plan and personally opening doors with prospective clients.
- An understanding of how marketing, industry presence, thought leadership, and account-based campaigns can support business development.
- Experience contributing to enterprise strategy, partnerships, and broader value-creation initiatives.
- M&A-related experience is an asset but is not required.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
During your first year, you'll establish a disciplined U.S. growth engine, strengthen the qualified pipeline, advance strategic accounts across priority sectors, improve commercial forecasting and CRM discipline, develop the U.S. business development team, and help LandSolutions make informed decisions about future markets and growth opportunities.
You'll also work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to establish clear commercial targets and measures of success based on market conditions, opportunity size, sales cycles, and the company's strategic priorities.
