Job Description

Job Purpose

Assist the Head of BMTO overseeing strategic transformation programmes, including creation, execution and implementation of strategic plans with clear material benefits and values aligned with CIMB Group Consumer Banking’s headline strategy.

Key Responsibilities

As middle management of the BMTO team, the individual is expected to play an integral role and lead in:

  • Drive the development of macro strategies and roadmap for Group Consumer Banking, including oversight of a portfolio of strategic programmes and playing an influential role over project outcomes, working closely with key project stakeholders including project directors and managers.
  • Drive initialisation and mobilisation of key strategic projects, including development of proper project objectives, timelines, costs and resources
  • Engaging regional and country heads to support the development and growth of their respective departments’ strategic intent and goals with timely and effective implementation of selected strategic projects for the various department within CIMB Group Consumer Banking
  • Drive the defining and management of strategic programmes across the Consumer Banking (e.g. market entry, strategic business partnerships and collaborations), in managing interdependencies and risks, in particular for multi-functional and multi-geographic initiatives, and driving resolution of key project issues, escalating these risks and issues for guidance and decision where necessary.
  • Drive transformation initiatives across Group Consumer Banking, including monitoring and tracking project completion and benefits realisation for strategic projects.
  • Conduct data gathering and research to support key strategic project plans and implementation.
  • Supporting the Group Consumer Banking CEO on high priority strategic initiatives. Assist to institutionalise rigour and discipline for project implementation across CIMB Group Consumer Banking, focusing on key strategic projects.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Support change management functions including the the design, production and dissemination of content and activations through the relevant channels, in line with project requirements.
  • Preferably with more than 5-7 years experience in the financial services industry and experience in a strategic or advisory capacity

Technical/Functional skills

  • Good understanding of the financial services industry
  • Good set of strategic and operations problem solving skill
  • Solid base of financial analysis capability

Personal skills (Soft Competencies - Core/Leadership)

  • Good interpersonal skills especially in managing differing viewpoints and objectives of internal stakeholders
  • Good presentation and influencing skills, required in guiding and assisting teams in putting forward proposals/recommendations
