Job Description

Your Opportunity to SHINE ON:

This is a rare opportunity to shape how a leading community organization grows its impact and connects with the people it serves. You will play a defining role in building a modern, integrated approach to revenue generation and storytelling—one that not only drives results but reflects the heart of the YMCA-YWCA’s mission.

In this role, you will bring clarity where there is complexity, align efforts for greater impact, and empower a talented team to excel. Your leadership will strengthen how the organization engages its community, builds trust, and inspires support—ensuring every message, campaign, and relationship advances meaningful change.

If you are a strategic thinker who thrives in turning vision into action, values collaboration, and is motivated by community impact, this is your opportunity to leave a lasting mark—helping position the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg as the charity of choice and a leader in building stronger, more connected communities.

WHY you’ll love Y Winnipeg:

At the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg, you’ll be part of an organization with over 145 years of trusted community impact—one that continues to evolve while staying deeply rooted in its purpose. As Manitoba’s largest child care provider and a cornerstone of the region’s social infrastructure, the Y plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families to live healthier, more connected lives.

You’ll experience the energy of a dynamic organization that reaches over a million visits each year through its community hubs, while also offering transformative experiences through Camp Stephens—where generations of young people have grown, explored, and built confidence for more than 135 years. Every part of the organization is designed to create spaces where people feel they belong and have the opportunity to thrive.

Guided by a bold 2024–2030 Strategic Plan, the YMCA-YWCA of Winnipeg is focused on expanding access, deepening community impact, and leading meaningful change across the city. If you’re motivated by purpose-driven work and want to contribute to an organization that is shaping stronger, more inclusive communities, you’ll find both inspiration and opportunity here.

  • Governance & External Alignment: Partners with the CEO to align fund development, government relations, and external communications with strategic priorities and governance expectations.

You’ll bring:

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Business Management, Fundraising, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience); CFRE designation considered an asset.
  • Proven ability to translate organizational priorities into integrated marketing, communications, and fund development strategies, with demonstrated success leading annual and capital campaigns that drive measurable revenue growth and community impact.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams, establishing clear roles and workflows, and implementing performance management systems (KPIs, dashboards) to drive accountability, efficiency, and results.
  • Strong expertise in strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and multi-channel storytelling, with the ability to engage board, government, and community stakeholders while optimizing fundraising, membership, and engagement outcomes.
