Job Description

Montgomery College seeks a dynamic and strategic fundraising leader to serve as Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations and Executive Director of the Montgomery College Foundation This executive role provides leadership for all development, alumni engagement, donor relations, and foundation operations activities while serving as the primary liaison to the Foundation's Board of Directors. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Advancement and Community Engagement, the position leads a team of approximately 20 advancement professionals and partners closely with a 26-member Foundation Board. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive fundraising, development, alumni relations, donor stewardship, and foundation operations efforts.
  • Partner with Foundation Board leadership to advance strategic priorities, governance, board engagement, and philanthropic growth.
  • Drive annual fundraising efforts of approximately $6–10 million and help complete the College's $50 million comprehensive campaign by 2028.
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift prospects, maintaining a personal portfolio of 40–50 donors and prospects.
  • Develop relationships with influential community, business, and philanthropic leaders to expand support for Montgomery College.
  • Lead alumni engagement strategies that strengthen volunteerism, advocacy, and philanthropic participation.
  • Oversee foundation financial management, compliance, budgeting, gift processing, and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible fundraising and development experience, including capital campaigns, major gifts, principal gifts, annual giving, planned giving, donor stewardship, and team leadership.
  • Demonstrated success securing six- and seven-figure gifts and leading comprehensive fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong knowledge of foundation governance, nonprofit regulations, and advancement best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, strategic planning, and leadership skills.

Hiring Range: $135,044–$236,298 annually. Initial salary placement is typically between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($135,044–$185,671 annually), based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Exceptional candidates with highly relevant qualifications and experience may be considered for placement above the midpoint, consistent with the College’s compensation guidelines.
