Job Description

Join a team where your application leadership directly supports how the firm closes, forecasts, and plans. You will own critical consolidation platforms and the day-to-day processes that keep Finance moving. This role is built for someone who enjoys operational excellence, clear stakeholder communication, and hands-on systems management. You will help strengthen stability, data integrity, and readiness during high-impact close cycles.

As a Vice President, Financial Consolidation Reporting Applications Lead at JPMorganChase within Consumer & Community Banking Finance, you will be accountable for the systems and applications that underpin the financial consolidation process. You will ensure operational stability, data integrity, and platform readiness across close, forecast, and planning cycles. This is a systems and applications ownership role, not a financial planning and analysis position, and it is designed for someone who thrives in production environments and values reliable data delivery.

You will spend approximately 25% of your time partnering with stakeholders and technology peers to align priorities and execute during close windows, and 75% of your time on hands-on application management and run-the-business execution. Essbase is the primary platform and core skill set for this role, and experience with other online analytical processing technologies will be considered.

Job responsibilities

  • Own and manage the systems and applications that support the financial consolidation process, ensuring platform availability, data integrity, and timely execution across close, forecast, and planning cycles
  • Act as the primary systems liaison between Finance teams, application support, technology teams, and business analysts to align priorities, timelines, and delivery outcomes
  • Oversee day-to-day application operations across multiple systems, cubes, and internal data validation platforms, including data loads, hierarchy management, and reporting readiness
  • Monitor workflows and processing health, proactively identifying risks and driving actions to maintain consistent, reliable data delivery
  • Lead production incident triage and escalation for consolidation processing failures, coordinating cross-functional resolution and driving root-cause remediation during critical close periods
  • Produce and maintain process documentation, operational runbooks, and stakeholder communications, and report on consolidation health, risks, and improvement metrics
  • Use Jira for work management and delivery tracking, including writing epics and user stories with clear acceptance criteria for technology teams
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work extended hours during month-end and quarter-end close periods, including handling escalations during critical processing windows

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as an Essbase Administrator, OLAP Technical Lead, Business Intelligence Lead, Senior Application Analyst, Solution Architect, Technical Lead, or related occupation
  • Hands-on experience owning and supporting Oracle Essbase in a production environment, including operational monitoring and issue resolution
  • Demonstrated experience supporting financial consolidation, forecast, and planning cycles from a systems and applications perspective
  • Working knowledge of multidimensional data concepts (for example, cubes, hierarchies, dimensions) and how they impact consolidation and reporting outputs
  • Experience performing data validation and reconciliation support to ensure accuracy and completeness of consolidated results
  • Proven incident management skills, including triage, escalation, stakeholder updates, and driving root-cause remediation under time constraints
  • Strong partnership and communication skills, with the ability to align Finance stakeholders and technology teams on timelines and readiness
  • Experience creating and maintaining runbooks, operational procedures, and control-oriented documentation
  • Proficiency using Jira to manage work, including writing clear epics and user stories with acceptance criteria

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with other online analytical processing technologies such as Cognos or Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and analytics platforms (for example, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Atoti) and how they consume consolidated finance data
  • Experience supporting Finance teams within a large financial institution, including management reporting expectations and close-cycle execution rhythms
  • Understanding of data lake and lakehouse concepts and tools (for example, Databricks, Snowflake) as they relate to finance data pipelines
  • Familiarity with automation and integration tooling (scheduling frameworks, scripting, extract-transform-load or extract-load-transform platforms) to reduce manual intervention
