We are seeking a motivated individual to join the financial accounting & reporting team to support and contribute to the management, reporting and driving process excellence agenda for the MUFG’s bank and Securities Americas Finance. This includes completion of financial statements ensuring to be most accurate, complete and timely. The candidate needs to develop, implement, and manage robust compliance processes and look for efficiency opportunities within MGS bank and Securities finance ensuring alignment with global corporate objectives, driving cost efficiencies, and mitigating risks across all MGS Finance operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial reporting, process excellence and governance frameworks.

The job responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert advice for process excellence against all Americas finance streams (FP&A, Financial Accounting and reporting, Account Payable, Regulatory Reporting, SOX, Tax Product Control, Budgeting).
  • Process Improvement and creating efficiency: Optimize financial tools and processes post-migration to drive automation and efficiency within the captive. Align similar nature processes in MGS entity.
  • Lead the identification and execution of synergies between Bank and Securities Finance teams, including operating model design, functional alignment, and team integration.
  • Act as a strategic partner to senior Finance leadership across Bank and Securities, influencing decision-making and driving alignment on the target operating model.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale integration, restructuring, or operating model transformation within financial services.
  • Lead process excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across Americas Finance functions. Evaluate, redesign, and optimize end-to-end finance processes to improve efficiency, quality, control, scalability, and stakeholder experience.
  • Partner with finance leadership to establish process roadmaps aligned with organizational and Finance Centre of Excellence objectives.
  • Identify Finance process gaps, bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies; develop and implement sustainable improvement solutions. Drive standardization and harmonization of finance processes across Bank and securities processes.
  • Support finance migration and transformation programs through process assessment, operating model design, knowledge transfer, and stabilization activities.
  • Develop and implement a continuous improvement framework using Lean, Six Sigma, and best-practice methodologies. Analyze process performance metrics and operational data to identify improvement opportunities and track benefits realization.
  • Drive process simplification initiatives to eliminate non-value-added activities and reduce process complexity.
  • Benchmark finance processes against industry best practices and recommend innovative solutions to enhance performance.
  • Identify opportunities to consolidate similar activities and align processes across teams to generate cost efficiencies and optimize resource utilization. Measure and track realized benefits from process improvement initiatives, including cost savings, productivity gains, quality improvements, and risk reduction.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure continuous process optimization and operational excellence.

Job Requirements:

Skills and Experience:

  • Industry Expertise: A deep understanding of the banking landscape, including regulatory requirements and products like Loans, guarantees, Trade Finance, cash equities or derivatives.
  • Project Management and driving efficiency: Proficiency in transition methodologies and managing cross-functional teams across different time zones. Drive the efficiency agenda for bank and securities businesses by reducing the overlapping processes.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong background in accounting principles, budgeting, and financial reporting systems like SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Proficient with Excel/VBA, Word and Access)

Qualifications:

  • Experience of 12-15 years working in financial closing and reporting teams in Bank/ Bank captive or a big 4 accounting firm practice, preferably with a controls and governance focus.
  • Bachelors / Master’s degree/ Chartered Accountant and relevant accounting qualifications.
