The Enablement & Solution Team, under Clearing Services, plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity, accessibility, and scalability of HKEX’s clearing and depository operations. The team is responsible for managing all internal and external user access to clearing & depository systems to ensure robust security and control, while also coordinating and driving strategic initiatives, cross department programmes, and division wide projects relevant to Clearing Services.

As the team head, you will lead a specialised team that supports Clearing Services through access governance, project leadership, operational innovation, and solution delivery. You will partner closely with internal stakeholders across business, technology, operations, market development, and risk functions to ensure that Clearing Services operates with high standards of security, resiliency, and scalability. You will also drive enhancements and innovations across processes, technology, and governance frameworks to support HKEX’s long term operational excellence.

  • Lead the Enablement & Solution Team and oversee the full lifecycle of system access management for clearing & depository operation‑related platforms, ensuring robust controls, compliance, and safeguarding of market infrastructure
  • Own the governance framework for user access, including policy development, access reviews, entitlement controls, and continuous strengthening of security measures
  • Coordinate and support initiatives that impact Clearing Services, ensuring alignment, risk awareness, and smooth delivery
  • Drive, lead, and manage projects that are related to or impacting Clearing Services, including system enhancements, process upgrades, and infrastructure changes
  • Promote innovation and operational excellence by identifying opportunities to enhance scalability, automation, resiliency, and efficiency across Clearing Services
  • Collaborate closely with technology, business, compliance, risk, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of clearing‑related initiatives and to resolve cross‑functional dependencies
  • Review, assess, and enhance operational controls and workflows to ensure strong governance, service quality, and alignment with HKEX’s risk appetite
  • Provide leadership and coaching, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development within the team
  • Oversee incident and issue management related to access control and clearing‑services systems, ensuring timely resolution, root‑cause analysis, and implementation of preventive measures

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accountancy, Economics or a related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience in the financial industry, ideally with exposure to post-trade operations, access governance, operational control, or project/change management; with at least 4 years in managerial capacity.
  • Strong understanding of operational risk, internal control frameworks, and system access governance principles
  • Proven experience coordinating cross‑department programmes or leading operations‑related projects; experience in market infrastructure or clearing operations is an advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage time‑critical processes and balance multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and Chinese; Putonghua proficiency is an advantage
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of building and developing high‑performing teams
