Vice President, Data Scientist

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Data Scientistto join our Corporate Engineering team. This role is located in Pune.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable data processing solutions and supporting application components.
• Work with large and diverse datasets to cleanse, transform, enrich, and structure data for analytical and operational use.
• Build and optimize distributed data pipelines to support high-volume processing, data integration, and insight generation.
• Develop robust transformation logic and analytical workflows using Spark-based processing frameworks.
• Evaluate statistical outcomes and analytical results to help prioritize, tune, and refine data models for improved business relevance and performance.
• Contribute to the development of data-driven approaches for linking, matching, and resolving entities across disparate data sources.
• Partner with data architects, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to implement scalable and reliable technical solutions.
• Support the industrialization of data products and services into enterprise systems and business processes.
• Improve platform performance, resiliency, maintainability, and data quality across the solution lifecycle.
• Contribute to modern engineering practices across design, testing, documentation, deployment, and release management.
• Participate in agile delivery and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, data science engineering, or related data-intensive technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in Scala and distributed data processing using Apache Spark, including Spark SQL for large-scale transformation and analytical workloads.
• Proven ability to wrangle, process, and refine very large datasets into analysis-ready assets and business-relevant insights.
• Experience evaluating statistical outcomes, analytical performance, and model results to support prioritization and refinement of data models and analytical workflows.
• Strong understanding of data integration, ETL/ELT patterns, data mapping, parsing, and data quality management.
• Good grounding in relational data concepts, object-oriented design, and enterprise software engineering practices.
• Experience with source control, testing, and CI/CD practices in production-oriented environments.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
