The Vice President, Data Analytics in the Chief Data Office (CDO) of the Information Technology Division is responsible for the design, delivery and adoption of governed data analytics capabilities and enterprise data products on our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). Reporting to the Head of Data Platform, the incumbent translates firmwide business priorities into a prioritized analytics roadmap, orchestrate multi-year delivery for various business functions and shape how management dashboards and data products are implemented. This role is pivotal in accelerating delivery velocity, uplifting data literacy and unlocking measurable business value.

Job Duties:

The VP, Data Analytics combines data strategy implementation with hands-on delivery responsibility. The incumbent oversees end-to-end analytics delivery aligned to the target Data Analytics Operating Model, partner closely with Data Business Partners (DBP), Data Owners and business division heads and lead the Data Analytics function across Hong Kong and Shenzhen. The role requires proven leadership, deep technical fluency in cloud-native data technologies, strong project governance discipline and credibility to influence stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the enterprise data analytics strategy and roadmap, aligning with business priorities across key divisions to deliver measurable business value.

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of data analytics initiatives, from demand intake and prioritization through to deployment, adoption and continuous improvement.

  • Drive the design, build and evolution of scalable, secure and high-performing analytics capabilities on EDP.

  • Establish and promote best practices for data modelling, data visualization and analytics solution design to enable consistent, high-quality outputs across the organization.

  • Partner with DBP to translate strategic objectives into actionable analytics use cases, ensuring clear outcomes and success metrics.

  • Champion the adoption of advanced analytics, AI and emerging technologies to enhance insight generation, automation and decision-making capabilities.

  • Strengthen data governance, data quality and data security practices, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

  • Drive the transition from fragmented or manual analytics practices to standardized, governed and scalable enterprise solutions.

  • Develop a high-performing data analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous learning across locations.

  • Manage external vendors and partners to ensure effective delivery, cost efficiency and alignment with organizational standards and risk management frameworks.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 12 years of experience in data analytics, data platform delivery or technology leadership, with substantial experience in a large enterprise environment and preferably in capital markets or FSI.

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale data or analytics programmes, delivering measurable business outcomes and driving adoption across multiple business functions.

  • Strong understanding of modern enterprise data architectures, including cloud-based and hybrid platforms.

  • Hands-on familiarity with data technologies and ecosystems such as data pipeline, data lake and data visualization tools.

  • Solid experience in advanced analytics or machine learning, with an understanding of how these capabilities can be applied to drive business insights and innovation.

  • Good knowledge of data governance, data quality, data security and regulatory compliance requirements within a controlled or regulated environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage senior stakeholders and influence decision-making at executive levels.

  • Strong experience in vendor and stakeholder management, including working with external partners to deliver technology and data solutions effectively.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and balance strategic thinking with execution.
