The Vice President,CTOOperationsrole serves as theoperationalright hand to the CTO, Software at HP and is accountable for aligning strategy, programs, and communications to accelerate the organization’s impact across HP. This role oversees the organization’sstrategyandtransformation, engineering executive operations, technical program management, and communications. This senior, strategic position is critical to advancing HP’s software-led businesstransformation and growth by enabling new efficiencies and operating models.
This role reports to the Chief Technology Officer,Software at HP. The leader will serve as a trusted partner to C-level executives and stakeholders across product and technology, with the opportunity to deliver sustained, company-wide impact at HP—a global technology powerhouse and long-standing Fortune 100 company with more than 28,000 patents, over$55 billionin annual revenue, and 58,000 employees worldwide.
Responsibilities
Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability,operationalexcellence, and a customer-first mindset across the organization.
Attract, build, manage, and develop a high-performing team of talentedoperations&executionleaders with diverseexpertise,perspectives, and backgrounds.
Develop and implement an operating model and stakeholder engagement model for the newly createdCTOOperations organization, serving as the accountable leader and primary interface to stakeholders totranslate the company’s businessstrategyand goals into technology and engineering deliverables, leveraging best-in-class operating models to drive execution and engineering excellence, and surfacing execution insights and constraints to inform ongoingstrategic decisions.
Overseetheorganization’sstrategyandtransformation planning, including execution of thetransformationstrategyand change management, OKRs, business metrics, analytics and reporting, and the enablement of new engagement models to resolve organizational bottlenecks.
Lead a central team of Chiefs of Staff deliveringproactiveexecutive operation support to engineering leaders across the CTO, Softwareorganizationto accelerate execution and improve engineering productivity
Oversee central technical program management, driving execution excellence for cross-functional engineering initiatives across the CTO, Software organization.
Oversee internal andexternalcommunications for the CTO, Software organization, including all-hands meetings, employee engagement, and onboarding, acting as the “front door” for key communications for the organization, as well as key external communications and speaking engagements.
Qualifications
Current or prior experienceoperatingat the VP level instrategy, operations,orrelatedareaswithin an established technology company.
15+ years of experience instrategy, operations, or related areas, including 8+ years leading organizations through senior leadership roles.
Proven success building andleading high-performing teamsthat drivestrategic,operational,and executioncapabilitieswithin large, complex product orengineeringenvironments.
Experiencedrivingstrategyand/oroperationswithin engineeringorganizations deliveringproducts used by millions of customers and/or large-scale commercial businesses generating more than $100 million in annual revenue.
Strongtrack recordof improvingoperationalefficiency and engineering effectiveness throughstrategic thinking and disciplined execution.
Experience leading or scaling functions such astransformation, chief of staff, technical program management,and/or communications
Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and drive alignment across large, matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical andoperationaltopics clearly to executive audiences.
Strong collaboration and leadership presence, with a reputation for building trust, attracting top talent, and developing diverse, high-performing teams.
Impact & Scope

The pay range for this role is$280,000 - $350,000 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
This position can be located in Palo Alto, CA; Vancouver, WA; or Spring, TX.
