We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Vice President, Credit Recovery, Business Banking. You will own end-to-end recovery performance and support to shape collection strategy that in line with internal standards and external requirements

Principal responsibilities

  • Oversee and co-ordinate debt recovery activities across Business Banking portfolios, including ad hoc projects (e.g., process reviews, system enhancements, resource planning and offshore delivery quality) to ensure the recovery progress and quality.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Commercial Banking Relationship Management, Credit Risk, Operations, Legal, Finance) to improve recovery outcomes and customer treatment.
  • Manage debt collections agencies, provide comments from user perspective on guidelines for DCAs and monitor performance, ensuring their adherence to Group, HASE and regulatory guidelines
  • Manage legal recovery actions where appropriate: instruct external counsel, represent the bank at court hearings when required, and liaise with the Official Receiver’s Office / trustees on bankruptcy or winding-up matters.
  • Prepare and maintain governance MI for problem loans (e.g., NPL, write-offs, recoveries) across relevant products; deliver insights and actions from trends. Experience using data and MI to monitor and diagnose problem-loan trends with strong Excel skills is an advantage.
  • Identify control gaps and improvement opportunities; propose and implement quality and control strengthening initiatives in response to reviews, customer feedback and business needs.

Requirements

  • University degree in a related discipline OR other relevant qualifications
  • Proven years managerial experience in credit risk, debt recovery/collections, customer-facing and/or project management related to commercial banking products
  • Good understanding of portfolio management technique including analytics
  • Strong interpersonal / leadership skills Proficiency in both English and Chinese, fluency in Putonghua an advantage
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
