YOUR TEAM

Within the Tech Center “IIX – Interior, Infotainment & Digital Experience” you will be part of creating one future cross-brand, standardized infotainment and digital experience platform of the Volkswagen Group. Having you in our team, you will unfold expertise in customer-centric software development for infotainment in the car, mobile and beyond.
As Director Core Infotainment Platform (m/f/d) and Solution Lead, you are part of a group of passionate and determined people who continuously strive for pushing the boundaries and who all share the same vision: To provide the best possible customer experience across the entire mobility journey by offering extended infotainment systems and functionalities combined with services for connected cars within a data-driven automotive ecosystem, no matter what brand or product they choose.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

• 
  Disciplinary and technical management of the organizational unit (OU-2) “Core Infotainment Platform”
• 
  Development of central infotainment stacks (hardware and software platform) for the architectures E³ 1.1, E³ 1.2 and MQB
• 
  Architecture, conception, design and series development of infotainment hardware
• 
  Development of system functions (e.g. diagnostics, software update) and middleware
• 
  Development of sound, Android AOSP, CI/CD and platform security
• 
  Responsibility for deadlines, quality and costs incl. management of the development partners and suppliers involved across multiple Agile Release Trains

WHO YOU ARE

• 
  University degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
• 
  Minimum 10 years of experience in software platform and embedded in the field of infotainment or consumer electronics
• 
  Experience building a tech focused software engineering team to develop infotainment solutions for automotive OEMs
• 
  Experience launching Android based IVI solutions in production vehicles
• 
  Detailed knowledge of infotainment platform technologies including Android OS, embedded systems, drivers, bootloaders, HAL and performance tuning etc.
• 
  Demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams to quickly solve complex issues
• 
  Proven experience delivering complex projects in short timelines
• 
  Excellent written and verbal skills in English and German is a plus; able to communicate with all parts of the organization including Delivery Units and Brands
• 
  High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
