The Opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished Vice President, Client Accounting to join our Office team as part of our financial services business in Hong Kong.

The Vice President, Client Accounting will oversee a team of qualified client-facing accountants and report to the Global Head of Client accounting and the Global Head of Fiduciary Services.

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team that delivers accounting, financial reporting and administration services to a variety of financial services clients, including structured finance vehicles, trusts and investment funds.
  • Responding to inquiries from and preparing proposals for prospective clients;
  • Participating in the development and maintenance of accounting and control systems;
  • Overseeing various operational and administrative tasks for clients.

What You Bring

In addition to a commitment to delivering superior candidate and stakeholder experiences:

  • will have a university degree, preferably in economics, accounting, finance or business administration;
  • will have completed an internationally recognised accounting designation (e.g. CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent);
  • have a minimum of 6 years’ post-qualification experience with a top tier accounting and audit firm, and during such time provided services to clients primarily in the financial services industry;
  • an in-depth knowledge of HKFRS and IFRS and demonstrated ability to determine and prepare the required note disclosures is essential;
  • experience preparing complex accounting and financial statements and disclosure notes for structured finance vehicles, investment funds and private equity vehicles;
  • good working knowledge of accounting and/or financial statement preparation software is required.

Key skills for this role are as follows:

  • attention to detail, professionalism, excellent organizational skills, and a team-first mentality;
  • experience with relationship management and client service;
  • ability to be a self-starter, able to handle a diverse workload;
  • demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • strong written and verbal communication skills in English and fluency in Mandarin/Chinese is an advantage to ensure smooth collaboration with internal and external parties;
  • excellent time management, organizational, prioritization and communication skills, both verbal and written.
