The Vice President & Chief Medical Officer (CMO) is a highly strategic enterprise leader who serves as the senior medical voice for Radiometer globally. As a key member of the Radiometer Senior Leadership Team and the Danaher Diagnostics Medical Leadership Team, the CMO shapes the company’s medical, clinical, and scientific strategy across the full product lifecycle—from early innovation through post-market evidence generation and lifecycle management.
In parallel, the CMO will contribute to advancing enterprise medical excellence priorities across Danaher Diagnostics, including evidence generation, in-field medical excellence, AI-enabled medical transformation, and the development of Danaher Diagnostics’ high-growth market medical and scientific affairs capabilities. This role is critical in ensuring clinical relevance, regulatory readiness, scientific credibility, and successful adoption of Radiometer’s solutions worldwide. The CMO will lead and scale a world-class medical organization that integrates evidence generation, clinical strategy, regulatory partnership, external scientific engagement, and patient-centered innovation to drive both clinical and business impact.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Enterprise Medical & Scientific Leadership
- Define and lead Radiometer’s global medical strategy across innovation, clinical development, product launch, and lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with enterprise growth priorities and patient care needs.
- Serve as the senior medical advisor to executive leadership, influencing portfolio strategy, innovation prioritization, and long-term scientific direction across acute care and future diagnostic platforms.
- Translate unmet clinical needs and healthcare trends into evidence-driven product strategies, Target Product Profiles (TPPs), and integrated evidence plans (IEPs).
Evidence Strategy & Generation
- Lead global medical affairs and evidence generation strategies, serving as a key authority on clinical research practices and protocol design to support product development, clinical adoption, reimbursement readiness, and lifecycle value creation.
- Partner closely with Clinical Affairs leadership to support clinical validation strategies and oversee investigator-initiated studies (IIS), post-market evidence generation, real-world evidence initiatives, and publication strategies.
- Ensure clinical utility evidence effectively differentiates Radiometer solutions with clinicians, healthcare systems, regulators, and value-based care stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Governance
- Partner with Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, R&D, and platform leaders (e.g., Access, Government Affairs, Data, and emerging technologies) to ensure scientific rigor across product development, commercialization, and disease-focused initiatives at Radiometer.
- Provide strategic leadership on medical risk management, patient safety, clinical claims, and regulatory interactions involving FDA, IVDR notified bodies, and other global health authorities.
- Ensure compliance with evolving global regulatory frameworks, scientific exchange requirements, and ethical standards governing diagnostics and medical affairs.
External Scientific Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Establish and strengthen strategic relationships with global KOLs, academic institutions, healthcare systems, scientific societies, guideline committees, and industry partners.
- Represent Radiometer externally as a recognized scientific and clinical thought leader through publications, advisory boards, congress participation, and executive-level scientific engagement.
- Contribute to advancing Danaher Diagnostics Medical Affairs priorities, including the development of scalable medical and scientific affairs capabilities across high-growth markets..
Innovation & Future-State Diagnostics
- Champion innovation in AI-enabled diagnostics, precision medicine, biomarker strategy, software-enabled diagnostics, and data-driven clinical decision support.
- Ensure medical leadership is embedded in future-state diagnostic strategies including digital health integration, companion diagnostics, and advanced analytics.
- Drive scientific translation of emerging technologies into clinically meaningful and commercially viable solutions.
Organizational Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing global medical organization based on scientific excellence, accountability, collaboration, and patient-centricity.
- Establish scalable medical operating models, governance frameworks, KPIs, and talent development strategies that strengthen organizational capability and succession planning grounded in the Danaher Business System (DBS).
- Lead through influence in a complex global matrix environment, fostering strong cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory, Commercial, Quality, Market Access, and Danaher Diagnostics Medical Affairs.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Education & Medical Credentials
- Medical degree (MD, MBBS, DO, or equivalent required).
- Advanced scientific, clinical, or business training (PhD, MPH, MBA, or equivalent) preferred.
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within diagnostics, medical devices, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or related healthcare industries.
- Significant experience leading global medical affairs, clinical development, or medical-scientific organizations in highly matrixed environments.
- Deep expertise in in vitro diagnostics (IVD), acute care diagnostics, or adjacent clinical diagnostic technologies strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting global product development, clinical validation, regulatory approvals, and commercialization activities.
Regulatory & Scientific Expertise
- Strong working knowledge of FDA, IVDR, CLIA, global clinical evidence requirements, and post-market surveillance frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience interacting with regulatory agencies, notified bodies, and external scientific stakeholders.
- Proven expertise in evidence generation strategy, publication planning, medical communications, and clinical study oversight.
- Strong understanding of diagnostic claims development, analytical validation, and clinical utility evidence.
Strategic & Commercial Leadership
- Demonstrated ability to align medical strategy with business priorities, product adoption, reimbursement, and commercial success.
- Strong enterprise mindset with the ability to influence portfolio decisions and lead without direct authority across global organizations.
- Experience partnering effectively with R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, Market Access, and Executive Leadership teams.

- Proven track record building and leading high-performing global teams and developing future medical leaders.

Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience serving as a Chief Medical Officer or senior medical executive within diagnostics or acute care settings.
- Expertise in acute care, critical care, hospital diagnostics, blood gas analysis, or point-of-care testing environments.
- Experience with AI/ML-enabled diagnostics, digital pathology, biomarker development, or software-enabled medical technologies.
- Familiarity with health economics, HTA requirements, reimbursement strategy, and value-based evidence generation.
- Strong external scientific reputation including publications, scientific advisory roles, or participation in professional societies.
- Experience leading global medical organizations across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific regions.
- Working knowledge of the Danaher Business System (DBS) or similar continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.
Remote Work & Benefits
This position is preferably based on-site in Copenhagen, Denmark, with flexibility for remote work within Europe for exceptional candidates.
The role requires regular international travel to support global medical, scientific, and business initiatives.
