Job Description

About Marvell

Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

This is an existing vacancy.

Your Team, Your Impact

Build the Optical Foundation Powering the AI Era

At Marvell, we are re-architecting the infrastructure that will define the next decade of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and accelerated networking. As AI clusters scale from thousands to millions of interconnected endpoints, the industry’s greatest bottleneck is no longer compute — it is connectivity, bandwidth density, power efficiency, and optical scale.

Marvell is uniquely positioned at the center of this transformation.
From coherent DSP leadership and silicon photonics innovation to advanced packaging and next-generation optical interconnect architectures, Marvell is enabling the scale-up, scale-out, and scale-in infrastructure powering the world’s largest hyperscalers, cloud providers, telecom operators, and AI platforms.

We are seeking an exceptional executive leader to serve as Vice President, Advanced Optical Engines — a highly visible role responsible for defining and delivering the next generation of coherent optical engines, transceivers, XPO platforms, and advanced photonic integration technologies that will power AI and cloud infrastructure at unprecedented scale.

This is not simply a product leadership role. This is an opportunity to shape the future architecture of the semiconductor and optical networking industry.
This position is based onsite five days per week. Due to the highly collaborative and fast-paced nature of the work, remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available for this role.

What You Can Expect

Your Team

You will lead a world-class multidisciplinary organization spanning:

  • Coherent DSP and high-speed mixed-signal systems
  • Silicon photonics and integrated optics
  • Indium Phosphide (InP) and TFLN technologies
  • Optical module and XPO architecture
  • Firmware and embedded systems
  • High-speed electrical design and signal integrity
  • Mechanical, thermal, and packaging engineering
  • System integration, validation, and manufacturing enablement

Your organization will partner closely with Product Management, Operations, Supply Chain, Foundry and OSAT partners, Manufacturing, Sales, and Executive Leadership to accelerate innovation from concept to hyperscale deployment.

You will also engage directly with strategic hyperscale and AI infrastructure customers shaping the future of networking architectures across cloud, AI training, inference fabrics, and datacenter interconnect.

Your Impact

As Vice President, Advanced Optical Engines, you will define and execute Marvell’s strategy for next-generation optical connectivity solutions across AI and cloud infrastructure markets.

You will lead the development of breakthrough technologies enabling:

  • Ultra-high bandwidth optical interconnects
  • Power-efficient AI cluster networking
  • Co-packaged and near-packaged optics
  • 400G, 800G, 1.6T, and next-generation coherent platforms
  • Scalable optical architectures for AI scale-up and scale-out fabrics
  • Advanced optical packaging and heterogeneous integration

You will play a critical role in helping customers overcome the industry’s most difficult infrastructure challenges involving bandwidth density, thermal constraints, power efficiency, manufacturability, and deployment scalability.

This role requires both visionary technical leadership and operational execution excellence. You will guide long-range technology strategy while driving complex engineering programs from architecture through customer qualification and production ramp.

Key areas of responsibility include:

Technology & Product Leadership

  • Define the technical vision and roadmap for coherent optical engines, transceiver platforms, and XPO solutions.
  • Drive innovation across coherent DSP, silicon photonics, optical integration, and advanced packaging technologies.
  • Lead system-level optimization across optical, electrical, thermal, firmware, packaging, and manufacturability domains.
  • Establish engineering best practices for signal integrity, reliability, power optimization, scalability, and yield.

Customer & Ecosystem Engagement

  • Partner directly with hyperscalers, AI infrastructure providers, telecom customers, and strategic accounts.
  • Lead technical roadmap discussions, architecture reviews, qualification activities, and escalation management.
  • Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with foundries, OSATs, packaging providers, optical component suppliers, and manufacturing partners.

Organizational Leadership

  • Build, mentor, and scale high-performing global engineering organizations.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, technical excellence, and execution discipline.
  • Recruit and develop top-tier engineering talent across photonics, packaging, DSP, and systems engineering disciplines.

Program Execution

  • Drive complex product development programs from concept through production deployment.
  • Manage engineering budgets, schedules, technical milestones, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure successful execution against aggressive customer and market timelines.
