Job Description

The Senior Member Readiness Manager owns leadership for ongoing member testing and conformance, including Industry Wide Testing (IWT) as well as member readiness for complex, multi-stakeholder platform upgrade projects.

For projects, the role is accountable for member readiness, which includes planning and driving member communication, timely release of platform documentation, and member testing. The role requires independent and proactive planning, stakeholder alignment, document readiness, and disciplined delivery management across internal teams, vendors, and members. The role requires direct coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

For business-as-usual onboarding to existing platforms, the role requires the management of an external vendor team along with the support of another resource in the team.

The role is also in charge of the tools used to support member testing and conformance, including Industry Wide Testing (IWT) execution and reporting.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Test Strategy & Delivery Ownership
  • Define and own the overall member test strategy, scope, sequencing, and entry/exit criteria across vendor and member testing.
  • Proactively identify dependencies (environments, documents, configurations, data, approvals) and resolve them before they impact timelines.
  • Lead risk-based testing and ensure assumptions, constraints, and known limitations are explicitly documented and communicated.
  1. Proactive Planning & Execution Discipline
  • Convert objectives into clear, time-bound execution plans with owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure calendars, environments, and resources are confirmed and blocked before committing to external timelines.
  • Drive execution rigor through written follow-ups, action tracking, and explicit confirmation after meetings.
  1. Stakeholder & Member Management
  • Act as the single accountable member test interface to business, operations, vendors, and external members.
  • Run meetings with clear agendas, prepared materials, and defined outcomes.
  • Communicate with senior stakeholders in a concise, risk-and-decision-focused manner (status, issues, decisions required).
  • Engage members directly to achieve desired outcomes, such as accessing test environments early, resolving issues, clarifying misunderstandings or getting sign-off.
  1. Documentation Readiness & Governance
  • Ensure all test-related artefacts (test plans, environment docs, technical specs, FAQs, known limitations):
    • Are fit for review before circulation
    • Follow consistent structure, naming, and versioning
    • Are published to the correct portals at the right time
  • Anticipate reviewer concerns by benchmarking against existing platforms and established standards.
  1. Vendor & Resource Management

  • Establish strong rapport with our member test vendor.
  • Plan and manage test resources with cost discipline, aligning seniority to task complexity.
  • Own vendor resource onboarding, handover, and enablement with clear runbooks and expectations.
  • Track vendor delivery using agreed metrics and adjust plans based on actuals vs. forecast.
  1. Quality, Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • Define meaningful quality metrics (defects, readiness, execution progress) and report transparently.
  • Apply automation pragmatically where it delivers clear value.
  • Capture lessons learned and apply them systematically to future programmes.
  1. Leadership & Ways of Working
  • Demonstrate proactive ownership: raise issues early, propose solutions, and seek alignment.
  • Maintain strong personal organization and prioritization in a high-volume, fast-changing environment.

Job Requirements

Essential

  • 10+ years in software testing, with 5+ years leading workstreams in complex, multi-party programmes.
  • Strong experience in financial markets or regulated financial-services platforms.
  • Proven ability to plan ahead, anticipate risks, and drive execution without close supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level summaries and external-facing documentation.

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience with member/client readiness or conformance testing.
  • Demonstrated ownership of documentation governance and publication processes.
  • Track record of cost-conscious resource and vendor management.

Personal Attributes:

  • Highly organized, outcome-driven, and comfortable operating with ambiguity.
  • Decisive and structured, with the confidence to make informed proposals and take decisions.
  • Detail-aware without losing sight of end-to-end delivery.
