Beca’s Planning & Environment team helps clients design and deliver projects that create lasting environmental, social and community value. The Opportunity

This is a new senior leadershiprole to champion and deliverecologicaland biodiversityassessments,providetrusted ecological advice,andembedecological outcomesintomultidisciplinary projectsacross Beca’s markets in Australia.This roleis a key strategic investment,identifiedas part of ourwidergrowth strategyYou’llhave the opportunity to build and shape the Victorian ecology capability and offering, including driving strategic recruitment, capacity building, and technical oversight of our biodiversity focussed work.

As a senior member of our Planning & Environment section, you will help shape strategy, grow capability across environmental,ecologyand social disciplines,help build Beca’s brand,and take a key client leadership role for relevant clients. This newly created and fast-growing section is focused on helping our clients create measurable environmental, social and community benefits

As a leader in the business, you willset best practiceecologicaloutcomes andbiodiversity strategiesaligned with national/internationalenvironmentalstandards. As well as providing advice to relevant team members to integrateecological safeguardingand best practice ecological outcomesinto project design, impact assessment, and approvals.

A key focus of the role will be in the Energy,Waterand Defencesectors where youwill:-

  • Lead and growBeca’secologyprofile and marketpresencein Victoria.

  • Lead account planning and pursuit strategiesfor project work aligned with our strategy

  • Lead bid strategy, value propositions,pricingand pitches to clients.

  • Develop and nurture positive relationships withclients in these sectors

  • Advise and prepare scopes for clients that address delivery and approvals risks.

  • Mentor and developecologists, environmentalpractitionersandplanners; foster a high-performing, inclusive culture.

  • Build cross-Tasman collaboration with Beca’s New Zealand team for project pursuits and delivery across Australia and the Pacific.

  • Build discipline tools,templatesand training for consistent high-quality deliveryin collaboration with broader ecology capability across Beca

About You

To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience as anEcologistTechnical Leadorsimilar and have worked in Energy,Wateror a related industry, with proven consulting experienceYou are someone who embraces challenges, promotesinnovationand leads with a mindset of continual improvement, as well as connecting the Beca network to bring the best of our business to our clients and the community.

Youwill:-

  • Be aQualifiedand experiencedecologist

  • Be arecognised ecology technical leader with a record of delivering complex, high impact projects.

  • Have experience in team leadershipand/or building

  • Have an ability to develop people,growcapabilityand build anintegratedteam

  • Remainup-to-datewith the latest legislativedevelopmentsandprovideupdates on these developments across the team

  • Have proven commercial acumen with experience growing client relationships and expanding service offerings.

Being a technical leader and relationship builder, you have the capability to lead projects and project teams and initiate, manage and develop strategic and operational relationships internally and externally to influence and coordinate people and skillsets to effect change to benefit our communities, people and clients. Experience in giving evidence as expert witness would be beneficial.
