
The Body Exterior Test Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the validation testing of vehicle exterior components, such as doors, hoods, and trunks. This involves the development and execution of comprehensive test plans, data analysis, and the optimization of laboratory processes to ensure component integrity and performance.
1.Develop and coordinate detailed test plans for automotive exterior components.
2. Lead testing for sheet metal and plastics.
3. Inspect test setups and analyze results to optimize performance and reliability.
4. Process ELMS test requests and define test plans based on priorities and equipment availability.
5. Design and develop test fixtures, ensuring they meet user requirements.
6. Analyze test data and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders.
7. Manage specialized technical personnel, providing guidance and support.
8. Collaborate with Core Engineering to define new test methods and improve processes.
9. Promote safety and maintain a clean working environment following 5S principles.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in validation testing within the automotive industry.
Deep understanding of vehicle mechanisms like doors, hoods, and trunks.
Advanced knowledge of global testing methods (SAE, ISO, etc.).
Proficiency in interpreting technical schematics and drawings.
Experience with programming and data acquisition (DAQ) tools.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Proactive problem-solving ability.
Desirable: Experience with 3D CAD software (preferably CATIA), certification in relevant engineering or quality disciplines, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and programming knowledge in Arduino, Matlab, and LabView.
