Dogwood Veterinary Specialty and Emergency is growing.
Following the success of our flagship specialty and emergency hospital in Marietta, Georgia, we are proud to announce the opening of our second hospital in Dunwoody, GA, scheduled to open in October 2026
We are actively building our founding Cardiology Team and seeking experienced Veterinary Technicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs), Registered Veterinary Technicians (RVTs), and highly skilled Veterinary Assistants who are passionate about advanced cardiac medicine, specialty patient care, and complex diagnostics.
Selected candidates will begin onboarding and training at our established Marietta hospital beginning July-August 2026, providing a unique opportunity to work alongside experienced specialists, emergency clinicians, and advanced nursing teams before transitioning into our brand-new Dunwoody facility.

Your Impact as a Veterinary Cardiology Technician
As a Veterinary Cardiology Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting patients through advanced cardiac diagnostics, treatment plans, anesthesia procedures, and long-term disease management.
- Assist with cardiology consultations and patient evaluations
- Support patients diagnosed with:
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Arrhythmias
- Congenital Heart Disease
- Acquired Cardiac Disease
- Monitor and manage chronic cardiac patients
- Provide advanced nursing care for specialty cardiology cases
- Educate clients on treatment plans and long-term cardiac management
- Assist with echocardiograms (cardiac ultrasound)
- Support electrocardiogram (ECG) diagnostics
- Assist with Holter monitor placement and data collection
- Prepare and position patients for advanced imaging and diagnostics
- Ensure accuracy of diagnostic records and reporting
- Assist with anesthesia induction and patient preparation
- Monitor high-risk cardiac patients utilizing:
- ECG and rhythm interpretation
- Pulse oximetry
- Capnography
- Blood pressure monitoring (IBP/NIBP)
- Temperature monitoring
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient status
- Support recovery and post-procedural patient monitoring
- Partner closely with Emergency and ICU teams
- Assist in stabilization of cardiac emergencies
- Support management of CHF crises and arrhythmia patients
- Participate in CPR and emergency response efforts
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Ensure proper maintenance of cardiology equipment
- Follow specialty hospital protocols and patient safety standards
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists, emergency clinicians, specialists, and nursing teams
Who We're Looking For
Candidates should be able to:
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday
- Lift, carry, and assist in restraining patients weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance available when appropriate
- Safely handle animals of varying sizes, breeds, temperaments, and medical conditions
- Perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity, including patient restraint, venipuncture, medication administration, and equipment operation
- Work in a fast-paced specialty veterinary hospital environment with frequent movement between treatment, exam, and specialty care areas
- Communicate effectively with clients, specialists, veterinarians, and team members
This position may involve exposure to:
- Animal dander, fur, saliva, and other animal-related allergens
- Chemotherapy agents and hazardous drug handling environments
- Cleaning products, disinfectants, and veterinary medical chemicals
- Medical odors, fragrances, and hospital-related environmental conditions
- Noise associated with veterinary patient care and hospital operations
- Minimum 2+ years of veterinary experience
- Experience within:
- Specialty Hospitals
- Emergency Veterinary Hospitals
- ICU
- High-Volume General Practice
- Strong foundation in:
- Veterinary Nursing
- Patient Monitoring
- Venipuncture and IV Catheter Placement
- Anesthesia Monitoring
- Client Communication
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Previous Cardiology experience
- Internal Medicine experience
- Echocardiography support experience
- ECG interpretation experience
- Holter monitor experience
- RECOVER CPR Certification
- Advanced ECC or Anesthesia training
- Passion for veterinary cardiology
- Strong attention to detail
