Littleton Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, growth-focused team in Littleton, Massachusetts. We are a three-doctor small animal and exotic practice committed to exceptional patient care, progressive medicine, and creating a hospital environment where team members feel supported and encouraged to grow.

We are actively working toward AAHA accreditation and embrace a Cat Friendly approach to patient care. Our team also provides opportunities to gain experience in advanced services, including exotic medicine, anesthesia, surgical support, and laser therapy.

What Our Veterinary Technicians Do

  • Triage patients and collect thorough medical histories, vital signs, and initial assessments
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and medical appointments
  • Provide compassionate nursing care from patient intake through discharge
  • Prepare and administer medications, vaccines, treatments, and fluid therapy as directed
  • Perform venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, and diagnostic sample collection
  • Process laboratory samples and assist with in-house diagnostic procedures
  • Monitor hospitalized and recovering patients using temperature, pulse, respiration, pain scoring, and other nursing assessments
  • Provide wound care and supportive nursing treatments
  • Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia, patient monitoring, and recovery
  • Maintain excellent patient safety standards throughout anesthetic and surgical procedures
  • Educate clients about medications, discharge instructions, preventive care, and at-home patient needs
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, veterinarians, and fellow team members
  • Maintain accurate and complete medical records
  • Help keep treatment areas, equipment, and supplies clean, organized, and ready for use

What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician status as a CVT, LVT, or RVT is preferred
  • Experienced veterinary assistants and non-credentialed veterinary technicians are also encouraged to apply
  • Strong technical skills, including venipuncture, intravenous catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
  • Anesthesia monitoring and surgical support experience is preferred
  • The ability to remain organized and provide attentive care in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • A professional, compassionate, and team-oriented attitude
  • Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions, learn new skills, and accept feedback
  • A genuine passion for continued growth within veterinary medicine
  • An interest in small animal, exotic, or advanced veterinary care
