Flexible hours? Supportive and experienced team? Costal location? You can have it all! We have an exciting opportunity for a personable, skilled vet to join our welcoming team here at Gosport Vets for Pets!
About us
Locally owned by Andras a passionate teacher and advocate for his teams’ development, as well as having over 10 years’ experience himself and enjoying orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery, you’ll also be working alongside an experienced certificate holder in internal medicine and ophthalmology and another vet who recently completed the graduate programme having joined us from Hungary, testament to the supportive environment created by Andras and his team.
Our vet team benefit from a high ratio of nurse to vet support with 11 experienced nurses who utilise their skills to the full including nurse clinics, and an additional supportive and friendly team of 8 receptionists, one of whom is a trained Mental Health First Aider too.
The role
With a varied caseload and where possible keeping work in house, work is shared out equally and we try and maximise veterinary skills to the full and embrace new ideas from team members.
The days are structured to advantage the team with breaks and admin time factored into the day; an hour’s lunch break and consults are given 15 minutes as standard. We also hold regular clinical meetings, practice meetings every 3 months as well as in-house lunch and learns, to keep up with the newest products available.
Ideally a full-time position over 4 days and with just 1 in 4 Saturdays 9am until 12pm and no out of hours, we could consider some flexibility so if you’re interested, please still get in touch.
About you
We’re ideally looking for a good all-round vet with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a UK small animal practice and therefore a colleague competent in routine procedures and all aspects of consulting and client care too. You’ll therefore also be a great communicator and enjoy building relationships with patients, clients and colleagues alike!
The practice
In the heart of the community, we are a standalone spacious practice with all the equipment you’d expect from a thriving GP practice, which includes 4 consult rooms and separate imaging room, theatre and separate isolation ward, cat and dog wards. There’s also a separate office and kitchen/colleague room for the team to enjoy.
The benefits
Our culture
We are a friendly dynamic team with a wide variety of interests and hobbies who make the most of our great location in Hampshire, in the heart of England’s beautiful south coast, just across the harbour from Portsmouth.
