Kettering Vets for Pets moved to a fantastic new state of the art practice in November 2024 and we haven’t looked back. We are now looking to expand our team! We are looking to recruit an experienced Vet to join our team during this exciting time of growth. Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon who is dedicated to maintaining high standards of patient and client care? We are a super friendly award winning, in a family feel practice with practice owners, Chris and Sarah, onsite to look after team, patients and clients.
We believe veterinary work should be expansive, rewarding and fulfilling – not limited or restrictive. That’s why we’ve created a practice where our clinical team has the facilities, support and freedom to do their very best work. We have top-flight facilities, including separate wards and waiting areas for cats, dogs and small mammals/exotics, dedicated isolation facilities, a bespoke dental suite with digital X-ray, a separate imaging suite, two theatres and a spacious prep and treatment area. Our practice was designed by Sarah and Chris to provide the very best facilities for our patients, clients and team. Our seven consultation room practice, include the larger Gracie Suite with its own private access, gives our team the space and flexibility to work in a way that suits their patients and clients’ needs. We’re proud to hold ICC Gold Standard Feline Award and RWAF Silver + Rabbit accreditation, and our team includes both Vet and Nurse Certificate holders, alongside a wonderful group of long-service colleagues who bring experience, continuity and a real sense of community. Most importantly, our onsite practice owners are actively involved and genuinely invested in supporting our team. We want our vets and nurses to have the time, resources, encouragement and clinical freedom to keep developing, enjoy their work and give their patients the care they deserve. When our team is supported to thrive, it shows in the quality of our clinical care and in the trusting, lasting relationships we build with our clients.
You will need to be confident with all routine medical and surgical cases, though due to the experience already in the team, workload/days can be tailored to your interests. You will be joining an established team with variety of individual interests including Feline Medicine certificate holder, vets with special interest in dermatology and surgery, nurses with interests in rabbits, exotics and feline nursing certificates. In fact if you have an area of particular interest this could be the practice for you as support to certificate level is encouraged and funded. Already hold a Certificate….great, we would love to hear from you, we enjoy learning from each other to develop the practice team and services offered for our clients. We have very exciting times ahead for practice development.
Our team consists of 5 FTE vets, 8 RVNs and a really lovely reception team. We see a wide variety of cases, both medical and surgical, and encourage time taken to thoroughly investigate and follow cases through, case continuity is key. Sick pet consultations are always scheduled for 20 minutes.
We are conveniently located for easy access to London, Birmingham/Midlands an hour or less away and have excellent commuter links throughout the UK. Superb villages in the surrounding area for those who prefer a village-based home life over town living, with excellent walking and wildlife habitats on our doorstep, Northamptonshire is well known as Rose of the Shires.
If this sounds of interest, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Please email practice owner Sarah on: sarah.scott@vets4pets.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Since 1991, when we were a wholesaler with a team of just 15, we’ve been focused on getting better every day. By putting pets before profit, working as a team and taking pride in everything we do, we’ve grown into a 451 store network with more than 8,913 colleagues working in our Stores, Grooming Salons, Distribution Centres and Support Office.
We are the UK’s leading pet specialist, providing pet owners with all their product needs, as well as our Vets for Pets practices and Grooming salons. We support our colleagues to work with pride and passion, to bring honesty and integrity to work every day, and to do it all with a sense of fun and fearlessness. We never shy away from having the important conversations and doing what we say we’ll do.
Our values and behaviours are practiced daily across the business and are what really makes us an enjoyable, exciting place to work. We're always striving to develop and reward our colleagues with an extensive in-house series of training programmes, wellbeing initiatives and a comprehensive benefits package. In 2018 we were delighted to be voted top 5 in the Great Place to Work UK’s Large category.
Our colleagues are central to the success of the business and are fully trained in pet care and dedicated to animal welfare. Pets are central to everything that we do and 93% of colleagues have their own pets too!
