Job Description

As a Veterinary Surgeon at Woodstock 24-Hour Hospital, you will be accountable for delivering exceptional patient care while ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and client service. You will work alongside a dedicated and experienced team committed to providing outstanding care for our patients, clients, and colleagues.

Woodstock 24-Hour Hospital is a modern, well-equipped veterinary hospital and the central hub for the Oxford region. We provide high-quality, honest veterinary care for pets day and night. Located on the edge of the Cotswolds, Woodstock is a picturesque town with excellent access to Oxford city centre. Our recently refurbished hospital includes facilities such as a CT scanner, digital radiography and laparoscopic equipment.

This is a genuinely varied role with opportunities to develop skills and interests across multiple areas of practice. We have a range of positions available within the hospital, allowing us to consider candidates with different levels of experience and clinical interests.

Our caseload is diverse and rewarding, including:

A high and varied surgical caseload, from routine procedures to more complex surgical cases.
A busy consulting service with a loyal and long-standing client base.
A significant number of referred and transferred cases from across the region.
Emergency and critical care patients, providing exposure to a wide range of urgent and complex presentations.
Opportunities to work alongside experienced colleagues in a true hospital environment.

This role a 40 hour contract working 4 days, working 1:6 Full weekends, pro rota Bank Holiday and on call.

Typically, in this role, you’ll:

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients in consults and surgery to the highest standards of regulatory, practice and operational compliance
  • Develop tailored treatment plans with clients
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive team
  • Share your skills and support our Medivet communities’ development
