We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly, experienced team in beautiful North Devon.
This is a part-time position of at least 2 days per week, due to a long-term Team member retiring, offering an excellent work-life balance alongside a varied and rewarding caseload. The role includes a shared weekend rota of 1:8 Saturday mornings, 1:8 daytime weekend cover. Importantly, there are no out-of-hours calls after 7pm.
You'll be joining a large, stable and supportive team consisting of 8 FTE Veterinary Surgeons, 7 FTE RVNs, 2 SVNs, 5 FTE Client Care Advisors and 2 Practice Managers. We are proud to have Vet certificate holders in Dermatology, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology and Surgery, creating an excellent environment for collaboration, learning and case discussion. One of our RVN’s also holds an exotics certificate.
Our well-equipped practices include modern diagnostic and surgical facilities, with equipment such as dental radiography and laparoscopy. We actively support further development and certificates for those wishing to pursue additional qualifications.
The caseload is varied, with a fair distribution of consultations and surgical procedures shared across the team. We prioritise sustainable workloads, with:
Maximum 2-hour consulting blocks
Dedicated daily administration time
1-hour lunch break
Last routine consultation at 5:45pm
The role is split across our main practice in Northam and our smaller consult-only branch in East-the-Water, just 10 minutes away. Located just five minutes from a stunning Blue Flag beach and surrounded by Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this is an ideal opportunity for someone seeking a fantastic lifestyle alongside a fulfilling veterinary career.
