Job Title: Veterinary Surgeon
Location: Palmerston Vets, Buckhurst Hill
Role Type: Permanent. Full or Part-time options available.
Salary: Up to £65,000 dependent on experience
Some clinics feel busy.
Some feel calm.
A few feel like places where people and animals are genuinely known.
Palmerston Buckhurst Hill is one of the few.
This is a long-standing village practice with a London postcode and a neighbourly soul. Many of our clients have been bringing their animals here for years. We know their stories. We see their pets grow up, grow old, and everything in between. Our work is not about throughput. It is about care that continues. You will join a steady team who look after each other as well as their patients. Nurses, vets and care assistants work side by side. Cases are followed through. Handovers are personal. Inpatients are cared for in-house by people who know them by name. Leadership here is human.
Sarah, our Practice Manager, has been part of Palmerston for over two decades. She is a nurse by background and leads with warmth, fairness and quiet high standards. Her focus is simple. Support the team, grow their skills, and protect the kind of working day that lets people do good work without rushing past the heart of it.
The caseload is varied and satisfying. Surgery, consults, long-term care, and plenty of familiar faces. Out-of-hours emergencies are handled externally, so your on-call is for our own inpatients only and rarely disturbs your evening.
This role suits a Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys building real relationships, doing careful medicine, and being part of a team that still believes this work is about love as much as skill. We have a loyal client base and a team that has your back. This is a place for a vet who still believes in doing the job properly.
