  • This is the perfect role for a good all round GP vet looking for a friendly practice to join and explore their interests

  • This will include 1 in 4 Saturdays and you must be confident for sole charge
  • There is no OOH!

Are you a passionate veterinary surgeon looking for a role where you’ll be valued, supported, and given the freedom to thrive? If you’re all about top-quality patient care, high clinical standards, and working with a team that genuinely loves what they do, we’d love to hear from you!

Why join us?

  • A supportive, experienced team – We’re all about helping each other grow, both personally and professionally.

We have some nice new equipment to support this including tonopen, ultrasound, laparoscopy and vessel sealing.
  • Competitive salary – Earn up to £65,000, depending on experience.
  • Work-life balance matters – We are not open Sunday’s and Saturdays are shared on a 1 in 4 basis, and there’s no OOH! We also offer full-time and part-time options.

Who we are

We’re more than just a veterinary practice—we’re a team that truly understands and supports each other. Our leadership includes vets, RVNs, and a practice manager, ensuring that every role is represented and valued.

At our core, we believe in teamwork, respect, and having fun while delivering clinical excellence. We laugh, we support each other, and we prioritise a healthy work-life balance. We know that every vet is different, so we tailor rotas and packages to suit each individual.

About our clinical team

We’re looking for a vet who’s:

  • Passionate about veterinary medicine and making a difference
  • A team player who enjoys sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues
  • Open to new ideas and positive about change
  • Happy to join in on the occasional work night out (because we know a good laugh is essential!)
  • Clear on what they want from their role—tell us, and we’ll help make it happen

What we offer

About Pets at Home

Since 1991, when we were a wholesaler with a team of just 15, we’ve been focused on getting better every day. By putting pets before profit, working as a team and taking pride in everything we do, we’ve grown into a 451 store network with more than 8,913 colleagues working in our Stores, Grooming Salons, Distribution Centres and Support Office.

We are the UK’s leading pet specialist, providing pet owners with all their product needs, as well as our Vets for Pets practices and Grooming salons. We support our colleagues to work with pride and passion, to bring honesty and integrity to work every day, and to do it all with a sense of fun and fearlessness. We never shy away from having the important conversations and doing what we say we’ll do.

Our values and behaviours are practiced daily across the business and are what really makes us an enjoyable, exciting place to work. We're always striving to develop and reward our colleagues with an extensive in-house series of training programmes, wellbeing initiatives and a comprehensive benefits package.
