Position Details

Role: Veterinary Receptionist Status: Part-time Salary: $18.00–$24.00 per hour, based on skills and experience Schedule: Two to three 8-hour shifts per week plus Saturday mornings from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

Hamilton Veterinary Hospital is currently looking for a part-time Veterinary Receptionist to join our team! Our mission is to care for our clients’ pets as though they were our own, and our front desk team plays a vital role in creating a compassionate and welcoming experience for every client and patient who walks through our doors.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide exceptional customer service in person, over the phone, and during high-stress situations
  • Manage lobby flow, schedule appointments, and assist with client concerns
  • Help handle basic medical emergencies for pets and owners while ensuring safety and calm communication
  • Assist clients with medication pickups, service questions, and product information
  • Input and manage data within practice management software, including billing and accounts
  • Process retail sales, faxes, and medical records
  • Reconcile the cash drawer and complete end-of-day financial duties accurately

What Our Veterinary Receptionists Bring

  • At least 1 year of experience in veterinary medicine
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to perform cashier duties accurately and efficiently
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced veterinary environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work at a workstation for extended periods as needed
  • Experience with Avimark is preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of veterinary experience preferred
