Job Description

Veterinary Nurse (Part-Time) | Greencross Vets Wyoming & Wyong | Central Coast, NSW

Where else can you spend your day caring for beloved family pets, assisting in surgery, and helping treat everything from puppies and kittens to pythons, bearded dragons, and blue tongue lizards?

At Greencross Wyoming, we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our passionate and close-knit team. This is a part-time opportunity offering a minimum of 9.5 hours per week, with the potential to work up to 38 hours per week depending on your availability and clinic needs.

This role provides the opportunity to work across both Greencross Wyoming and Greencross Wyong, giving you variety, flexibility, and exposure to a diverse caseload while being supported by two fantastic teams.

Why You'll Love Working Here

At Greencross Wyoming, we've built something special. Our team is supportive, welcoming, and genuinely enjoys coming to work each day. We work hard, celebrate successes together, and support one another through the busy days. Whether you're looking to further develop your skills, learn from experienced colleagues, or simply find a clinic where you feel valued, you'll find it here.

One of the things that makes our clinic unique is our regular exotic and reptile caseload. From snakes and lizards to turtles and other exotic species, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside a senior veterinarian with a special interest in exotics and reptiles, providing hands-on experience that many nurses rarely get the chance to enjoy.

Our experienced Practice Manager is passionate about creating a positive workplace culture, and our skilled nursing team works collaboratively to ensure both patients and team members receive the support they need to thrive.

About the Clinics

Greencross Wyoming is a large, purpose-built facility designed with both patients and team members in mind. The clinic offers a spacious and organised environment where everything you need is at your fingertips.

Our facilities include:

  • Four spacious consultation rooms
  • A large treatment area and surgical theatre
  • Modern diagnostic and surgical equipment
  • Excellent staff facilities, including outdoor spaces to relax and recharge
  • Plenty of room to collaborate, learn, and grow

Working across both Wyoming and Wyong clinics, you'll enjoy exposure to diverse cases, supportive teams, and a loyal client base that trusts us with the care of their pets.

About the Role

This is a varied and rewarding nursing role that offers exposure to both medical and surgical nursing, while supporting the day-to-day running of two busy clinics.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting veterinarians during consultations, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Preparing patients for surgery and assisting in theatre
  • Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting patient recovery
  • Administering medications and treatments
  • Collecting blood and pathology samples
  • Performing diagnostic testing
  • Providing hospital and inpatient nursing care
  • Educating clients on preventative healthcare and treatment plans
  • Maintaining accurate patient records
  • Supporting reception and client service duties when required
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control throughout the clinic

No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for a nurse who enjoys variety and staying hands-on.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent qualification)
  • Has at least 2 years of clinical veterinary nursing experience
  • Is confident across medical, surgical, and hospital nursing
  • Has strong anaesthetic monitoring skills
  • Demonstrates excellent animal handling abilities
  • Is comfortable working across multiple clinic locations
  • Holds a current driver's licence and reliable transport
  • Has strong communication and customer service skills
  • Is organised, reliable, and proactive
  • Enjoys working independently and as part of a collaborative team

Availability across Monday to Saturday, including some weekend work, is required.
